If you haven’t played since launch, you may notice that you can nowto get more applicants for the position. When hiring Fantasy Experts, it’s a good idea togo for the full three applicants; this is because Fantasy Experts come in a range of classes, each with different specializations (see below). You’ll need a diverse party of heroes to meet all the challenges of Scorched Earth, so it’s a good idea tohire multiple classes at once.

Fantasy Stats And Classes

Fantasy Experts havefour Fantasy Statsthat can affect the outcome of their expeditions;Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Luck. Each Fantasy Expert belongs to one of four classes, eachspecializing in one of the four Fantasy Stats, as follows:

Bard

Luck

Each individual Fantasy Expert also starts with a randomly-selected Trait thatgives a small boost to one of the Fantasy Statsthat isn’t favored by their class.

How To Increase Fantasy Stats

Each time a Fantasy Expertgains a Rank, they getone Skill Pointthat can be spent toincrease one of their Fantasy Statsby one. To do so,select the Expertand click theUpgradebutton in the Class section of their panel.

Sometimes, Fantasy Experts will gain Traits while on expeditions thatincrease their Fantasy Statswithout having to spend any points. These are very valuable, so it’s a good idea to send your adventurers into the field often just for the chance of a buff.

Using Fantasy Stats On Expeditions

Fantasy Statsdon’t do anything while the Expert is at the museum. Instead, theyactivate or deactivate events while on expeditions.

Like other areas, expeditions in Scorched Earth have several events that can be affected by the abilities of the team that you send. While there are still a handful of events that trigger based on total Rank, the vast majority of Scorched Earth’s events instead care about the combined total of a specific Fantasy Staton the expedition team.

For example, you might need a combined Strength of 25 or more to overcome one challenge, and a Dexterity of 40 to handle another.

Many of the requirements are quite high, so luckily, you canstill use cargo itemslike Curse Counters and First Aid Kits to negate certain dangerous effects.

Fantasy And Non-Fantasy Experts On The Same Team

Some expeditions in Scorched Earth require your Fantasy Experts to bring an Expert from a different field along. Sinceonly Fantasy Experts have Fantasy Stats, the “guest” will not be able to contribute to any events that require them.

By the same token, if a Fantasy Expert joins an expedition outside of Scorched Earth, their Fantasy Stats won’t be of any use. In both cases, however, Experts can still make use ofQualifications they’ve acquired in the Training Room, where applicable.
