Summary

Elden Ring Nightreignonly just launched, but its solo mode is proving so difficult for a lot of players that Bandai has already confirmed a patch is on the way.

Considering the fact that difficulty is one of the core tenets of FromSoftware’s games, you probably aren’t too surprised to hear that a lot of players are having trouble getting through its latest release, Elden Ring Nightreign. While getting stuck is part and parcel for Soulslikes,Nightreign is a bit of a different beast.

Unlike the original Elden Ring and the rest of the Soulslike genre,Nightreign is supposed to be played online with two other players to get the most out of its battle-royale-inspired fixings. Youcanchoose to play on your own if you like, but it’s clearly not balanced for that andhas led to most players having an awfully tough time getting through it.

Don’t Worry, Elden Ring Nightreign Is About To Get Easier For Single Players

Or, In FromSoft’s Words, Solos Are About To Be “Improved”

Since Nightreign dropped late last night, one of the core complaints (aside from the lack of Duos and trouble finding matches) is that it’s nearly impossibleto get through on your own. It’s designed like that, of course, but the fact that there’s a single-player option means that a lot of online-avoidant players are simply getting the worst experience right now.

That’s going to change in the near future, though. Over on the official Elden Ring Twitter account,a brief update was shared thanking players for trying the game out so far. More importantly, it promises that Patch 1.02 is going to be released at some point next week, and includes a number of bug fixes and changes to solo expeditions.

The full patch details are going to be shared before the update drops, but the Twitter account shared the ones specific to solo expeditions a little early. Those improvements include the number of runes gained being increased and the addition of an “Automatic Revival Upon Defeat” effect that can be used once per night boss battle.

If you think Nightreign is hard now, just wait until you find out how to unlock all of its cheeky Dark Souls references.

While this doesn’t seem like it’s going to fixallof Nightreign’s single-player difficulties, it does seem like a step in the right direction considering all of the backlash the game has been getting for its difficulty so far. We’ll have to wait and see how the patch does, but hopefully it makes things a little easier going for those of us who are friendless.
