Summary
Despite having a great player count at launch,Elden Ring Nightreignlaunched to mixed reviews on Steam. The two main reasons for this were the lack of a duos mode and the missing voice chat feature that made coordination via matchmaking tedious. However, the latest patch has made solo mode a bit easier andFromSoftware has officially said that a duos mode is coming, resulting in the reviews rising.
If you’re still struggling with solo mode, or even in a full party, perhaps you’re not leveraging the items you find along the way in Limveld. FromSoft games are notorious for being vague, so we wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t know about the importance of boluses. Not only do they give you resistance to various status effects, but they stay in effect even if you die.
Boluses Are Your New Best Friend In Nightreign
Not only do they protect you from frost, deathblight, bleed, and other ailments, but they also gradually restore HP, making them a great back up in case you’re out of heals. On top of all this, they’re stackable too. So, next time you come across these weirdly named items, make sure you munch them down to make the overall run a bit easier.
“This is game changing. Never carry boluses, just use them from the ground (triangle and up on D-pad on PSX) and you get the resistance for the run,” said one comment on the Reddit thread. “Yep. Time to eat off the floor,” replied another. It really feels like the early days of Elden Ring again.
“I love how everyone is approaching items from the base Elden Ring mentality of 99% of them being trash, and then finding out that nearly every one of them in Nightreign is incredible,” noted another player. “Truly a wonderful comeback story for the items.”
Yesterday, Elden Ring Nightreign servers went down for maintenance. As part of the update, single-player runs will allow you toautomatically revive once per night boss battle. The amount of runes gained during solo expeditions has also been increased.
