Like any MMO,Dune: Awakeninghas its share of problems. The biggest one is PvP griefers ruining the game for everybody, even attacking people in PvE zones with creative strategies. Despiteincreasing the PvE zone in Deep Desert, this continues to be a problem and Funcom may have to take drastic steps. However, there are also minor issues like the wonky vehicle interaction.
Players have previously complained that getting into vehicles, especially if they’re in a hurry, is pretty janky, resulting in Shai Hulud devouring them. The game’s latestpatch version 1.1.10.00has claimed to address these issues, but it seems the interactions are now somehow worse. Players have reported weird glitches when trying to enter vehicles after the update.
Dune: Awakening’s Latest Update Makes Vehicle Interaction Worse
As showcased in a video byMaxwellJones117on Reddit, the new update definitely helped their character interact faster with their ornithopter, but the interaction itself is hilariously glitchy. Their character glitches all over the ornithopter for over 20 seconds before finally being let into the vehicle. All this while a massive sandworm is barrelling towards them. Unfortunately, they didn’t take off in time.
“They certainly are interacting with the vehicle that’s for sure,” joked one comment. “Looks improved to me. I know I couldn’t inspect every inch of my orno in a matter of seconds before the patch,” said another.
It seems that this is not a one-off glitch as others have reported it as well. “I’ve seen other vids where people bug out in the sand, and the glitch always seems to resolve right before getting devoured. It’s almost like an extra FU from the server,” noted one player. “Same exact thing happened to me. Lol. Luckily I was in an outpost getting shot at and not on Shai’s sand. It seemed to happen when I jumped and tried to enter the thopter,” said another.
It seems Funcom’s definition of “improved interaction” is a bit different from ours. Hopefully, a hotfix will be coming in soon to fix this glitch.
