With theNintendo Switch 2finally out, and its first major exclusive,Mario Kart World, also out, the next big game in line to be released isDonkey Kong Bananzain July. Ahead of its release,Nintendoheld a dedicated Bananza Directwhere all sorts of information was revealed, including the transformations that Donkey Kong will have access to.

Bananza is the next big Switch 2 game,.

That said, there’s one bit of info that has fans in a pinch, and that’s word of “In-Game Purchases” being in Bananza, something that its eShop page makes note of.

In-Game Purchases Can Mean A Number Of Things In Switch Games

To start, the ESRB defines the “In-Game Purchases” label as follows:

Contains in-game offers to purchase digital goods or premiums with real world currency, including, but not limited to, bonus levels, skins, music, virtual coins and other forms of in-game currency, subscriptions, season passes and upgrades (e.g., to disable ads).

So while, in theory, it’s possible that Bananza will have currency for purchase,it’s more likely that the label is required due to the Nintendo Switch Online features present in the game, due to NSO being a subscription service.

It’s also worth noting thatSuper Mario Bros. Wonder also has a similar disclaimer on its ESRB page, and there are no microtransactions to speak of. It does support NSO, so it’s more than likely tied to that.

In other words, it doesn’t sound like there is much to worry about when it comes to these fabled “In-Game Purchases.” Of course, we could all be wrong, and bananas will be for sale, but recent history suggests that it’s a necessary disclaimer for NSO functionality.
