It looks like we don’t need to worry aboutScott Pilgrim EXeventually getting delisted like the original game, as multiple physical editions have been revealed by Limited Run Games.
AlthoughScott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is partly known for being one of the best movie tie-ins of all time, that’s sadly not why it built up such a big reputation over the years. Instead, the main reason why the gamemade such a name for itself is because it was delisted by Ubisoft in 2014 due to rights issues, and was completely unavailable to purchase for nearly seven years.
Thankfully, that changed after the release of the Complete Edition in 2021, but it’s fair to say that trauma hasn’t left most Scott Pilgrim fans. When Scott Pilgrim EX was announced a few months ago at Summer Game Fest, there was a lot of fear that it might eventually end up suffering the same sad fate.
Scott Pilgrim EX is much safer from being unplayable than the first game
Physical editions are already up for pre-order on Limited Run
Even though Scott Pilgrim EX doesn’t release until Early 2026, that fear has already been put to rest. Earlier today,Limited Run Games revealed several physical editions for Scott Pilgrim EXthat are already up for pre-order on its website. This means that even if Scott Pilgrim EXdoesget delisted for some wild reason in the future, those with a physical edition will be able to hang onto it.
The physical editions of Scott Pilgrim EXstart off with a standard release for $39.99that comes with an exclusive foil cover and reversible cover. After that, there’s a Deluxe Adventure edition for $64.99featuring the game’s soundtrack and a tie-in comic by series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley.
Finally, there’s the Ultimate Adventure Edition at a whopping $174.99, which comes in a Game Goose replica box, a deluxe box of the base game, a hardcover art book that doubles up as a strategy guide, a pixelated commemorative coin, and an acrylic diorama with figures of Scott and Ramona. Everything else from the Deluxe Adventure version is also included, of course.
There’s currently no word on whether Scott Pilgrim EX will get a physical release outside of Limited Run Games, but it does seem likely considering the standard release has an “exclusive” foil cover.
Pre-orders for Scott Pilgrim EX will run from July 26 to September 21, which means you’ve got a decent amount of time if you want any of the physical editions. We still don’t know when the game is actually releasing beyond a vague “Early 2026”, but it seems we won’t be waiting too long if pre-orders are already kicking off.
