Kalos' bestPokemon TCGcards have been eating well ever since the announcedreturn of Mega Evolutions, and a renewed interest in thebest the XY era has to offer. When it comes to the Pokemon TCG, Kalos focuses on quality over quantity with its most valuable cards.
There’s not a ton of variety in the Pokemon that rise to the top, but if you’re a fan of one of these popular Kalosian Pokemon, you have some elegant and expensive artwork to choose from. These cards feature Pokemon from Kalos, but appear in various Pokemon TCG products across generations, from X&Y to Scarlet & Violet.
Cards are ordered according to theirTCGplayermarket price, which is subject to change. Any cards without a market price were not included.
8Sylveon GX: Guardians Rising (Secret Rare) – $124.92
Rising Up
Sylveon is the undisputed star of the show from Kalos when it comes to valuable Pokemon TCG cards as the most recently released Eeveelution.
We’re still waiting for a Steel, Dragon, and Poison (among others) Eeveelution. Any day now…
Despite its triple-digit price tag, this Sylveon is relatively affordable when compared to some of the other expensive Kalos Pokemon, including superior Sylveon cards to come. Rainbow Secret Rares don’t always do the Pokemon justice, and despite working well for Sylveon, the shiny color palette undoubtedly outshines this version.
7Yveltal EX: Alternate Art Promos (Promo) – $133.37
The Sole Legendary
Yveltal is a member of the XYZ legendary trio, sharing the spotlight with Xerneas and Zygarde. However, its peers can’t hold a candle to Yveltal’s overwhelmingly evil aura. This card is more of a shared victory for Xerneas and Yveltal, even if the latter is the only Pokemon named on the card.
Despite the clear disrespect to Xerneas' presence, each Pokemon plays a massive part in this card’s impressive price tag. There are only a handful of Pokemon from Kalos who have exceeded expectations in the Pokemon TCG, and both Xerneas and Yveltal deserve credit for being among them.
6Sylveon GX: Hidden Fates Shiny Vault (Shiny Holo Rare) – $142.92
The Shiny Stands Alone
The cotton candy colors for Sylveon’s Shiny Holo Rare from Hidden Fates are so striking, it was surprising to see its relatively low ranking; however, that’s no fault of its own, given the competition.
Even if you’re not big on pink, this alternate color palette can make a fan out of even the biggest Sylveon hater. The sparkles and bright white background might seem like small details, but they bring the color scheme together perfectly and balance out the incredibly bright pastels.
5Sylveon: Evolving Skies (Alternate Art Secret) – $194.66
In Flight
Evolving Skies needs no introduction, considering its place as one of the most valuable setsever released in the Pokemon TCG. The first time you see this card, it can easily overwhelm you with its incredible array of colors and details, but every time you see it, you’ll pick up on something new.
Try to count the variety of smaller Pokemon who appear alongside Sylveon (we won’t ruin it by pointing them all out), and you’ll be amazed the further you dive into it. It’s hard to believe that this isn’t Sylveon’s most impressive card art, but it serves as a testament to the high level of quality Sylveon’s best cards flaunt.
4Greninja & Zoroark GX: Unbroken Bonds (Alternate Full Art) – $232.67
Better As A Team
You may recognize this Tag Team card featuring Zoroark fromthe most valuable Unovan Pokemon cards, and it’s time to celebrate the other half of this prolific partnership: Greninja. This frog ninja stands out as arguably one of the most popular Pokemon of all time, and is the sole character to boast a unique evolution in the form of ‘Ash Greninja’.
Both of these Pokemon play a role in this card’s high valuation, but if you had to give more credit to one Pokemon, then Greninja deserves the nod, given its close association with Ash and immense popularity.
3Greninja ex: Twilight Masquerade (Special Illustration Rare) – $267.54
A Scarlet & Violet Icon
Greninja’s popularity persists into the Scarlet & Violet era, with its Twilight Masquerade Special Illustration setting a high standard as one ofthe most valuable cards from S&V.Though it was unclear if this card’s price was manipulated shortly after its release, it has maintained a high value that is sure to rise over time.
This unique artwork is easily one of the most visually striking Kalos cards due to its bright, vibrant colors, which provide a striking background for Greninja to strike its pose.
2Sylveon: Prismatic Evolutions (Special Illustration Rare) – $342.58
One For The Future
Okay, playtime is over, and Sylveon is back to snatch the spotlight away from the more ruggedly designed Greninja. If you’ve been wishing for an over-the-top depiction of Sylveon featuring all of this Pokemon’s favorite colors, then can you share your methods? Because your wish came true.
Prismatic Evolutions is one of the standout Scarlet & Violet era sets that flew off the shelves upon release, then watched its value slowly erode as more and more products flooded the market during mid-2025. However, once the supply dwindles again, this Sylveon card has a chance to challenge for the top spot.
1Gardevoir & Sylveon GX: Unbroken Bonds (Alternate Full Art) – $512.86
A Shared Victory
Gardevoir got plenty of shine amongthe most valuable Hoenn Pokemon TCG cards, but if there was ever any doubt about which Fairy-type Pokemon reigns supreme, this card should confirm that it’s Sylveon. Gardevoir is no slouch, but considering that Sylveon’s most valuable card comes relatively close to this card’s value, it’s hard to deny it’s the main attraction.
Regardless of which Pokemon you prefer, Sylveon earns the crown as the best Kalosian Pokemon. Eeveelutions typically command plenty of attention, and Sylveon is slowly but surely earning its place as the second most popular, behind Umbreon.
