Despite rumours that the nextStarfieldexpansion isn’t going to end up releasing this year,Bethesdahas still teased that “exciting things” are on the way.

It looks like Constellation isn’t quite ready to hang up its space boots. After virtually no news was given at any ofXbox’s latest showcases (including the SGF 2025 presentation), Bethesda has pulled Starfield out of the dark to let fans know they remember the ambitious space RPG. Not only does Bethesda remember it, they’re planning ‘something’ for the title.

Aside from what fans consider a tiny patch of updates that just launched this week (the full patch notes areavailable on Steam), it feels like Bethesda has put the space-faring title on ice. After Todd Howard himself promised more content (even alluding to DLC for Starfield becoming an’annual occurrence' last year), Shattered Space was the last reason the company gave fans to jump back into The Settled Systems.

As far as new content goes, the patch 1.15.222 appears to only fix some minor issues with gameplay, such as general bug extermination, upgrades to the Creations menu, and fixing caution signs around extreme temperatures. But this is where Bethesda promised “exciting things” would be coming to Starfield (thanks toPCGamer).

Starfield Is Getting New ‘Official’ Content, But We Don’t Know When

After a slew of rumors and reports have all but confirmed that the next bit of official DLC for Starfield is coming in 2026, fans can look elsewhere to find more content. It’s important to note that Bethesda fans have kept the dreams of Constellation alive by utilizing the Creations Community (which has just been updated with an easier-to-navigate menu), like other huge sandbox Bethesda titles,SkyrimandFallout 4.

Starfield’s official Twitter account regularly posts solid fan creations from the community, including creatorAlmightySE’s Everbright Sanctum. Aside from Everbright Sanctum, fans can find oodles of new Starfield content straight from the creations' menu on Xbox consoles and PC. Unfortunately, regarding official content updates, Bethesda has left fans on ‘it’s coming soon.’ Until then, the creator community is bustling with creations to allow fans a new way of exploring The Settled Systems, at least until new content is announced.
