The feeling of gratefulness upon coming across a conveniently placed ladder or bridge when you’re lugging tons of cargo is whatDeath Stranding 2is all about. You’d have to circle around ormake it over perilous terrain, but someone who was in the same shoes as you placed something there to help you out.

This unique multiplayer aspect in a single player game is what we’ve come to know as a strand game. While this system is crafted to allow players to help one another, it seems there are also ways to mess with other players in Death Stranding 2, like placing a Speed Up sign at the worst possible place.

Death Stranding 2 Players Find Speed Up Signs More Annoying Than Helpful

Among the many structures and signs Sam can put down in Death Stranding is the Speed Up sign. As the name suggests, it gives you a temporary speed boost if you pass through it. It’s helpful when you’re making your way across large swathes of land or on a highway. However, if placed in the wrong place, it could lead to accidents, asworld-shakerpointed out on Reddit.

Their video showed a funny instance where a Speed Up sign at the wrong place ruined their chance of getting an S+ rating just outside the destination, casing their truck to slam into ther terminal. “I was so busy focused on watching my off-roader and every tiny bump (since DS2 seems so much more sensitive), that I missed the “You Got This!” sign from my last visit being replaced by Speed Up,” they said.

“Also: NO ONE needs a speed boost at the edge of a rocky drop like that. For anyone wondering, this did cost me the S+ rating, so I reloaded an earlier save.” While it was unfortunate, the video made it look hilariously silly. It also resulted in the comments section pointing out that Speed Up can be annoying instead of helpful.

“Speed boosts are just irritating,” said one of the comments. “3 innocent NPC porters came to an unfortunate end yesterday because of these things. I couldn’t see the NPCs because of the excessive amount of signs and then the speed boosts threw me straight into them. Speed boosts should be limited so they can’t be built within 50m of a delivery point IMO.

However, it looks like some players are having fun placing these signs on treacherous terrain. “Meanwhile I’m building boost signs on cliffs for fun,” said another player.
