Death Stranding 2is almost upon us, bringing us another adventure with Sam and the gang, and another test of the PlayStation Pro’s sheer horsepower. We’ve not had many excuses to test out its capabilities since the console’s launch, what with the general lack of exclusives recently, but Death Stranding 2 is now here to blow us all away graphically.
However, if you were hoping to switch on Death Stranding 2’s fancy Quality mode and really make your PS5 Pro sweat, you might be better off not bothering at all. That’s because, according to tech experts Digital Foundry (thanks GamesRadar), the game looks pretty much the same in Performance mode as it does in Quality.
Death Stranding 2’s Quality Mode On PS5 Pro Described As “Largely Redundant”
“On the PS5 Pro, the differences between Quality and Performance Mode are so minor that Performance Mode becomes the obvious choice. Quality Mode is largely redundant on the Pro. It looks excellent, sure, but Performance Mode is nearly identical and plays a lot better.”
Thankfully, it sounds like Death Stranding 2 looks pretty good regardless of which mode you play in, so you might as well stick it on Performance to get that slick 60fps. That way, one of the best games this year will be running even better, as Death Stranding 2managed to get a whopping score of 89 on OpenCritic. I guessKojima is massively disappointed right now.
We’ll get to see for ourselves just how good Death Stranding 2 looks when it launches later this week, though you could be one of the very lucky few that’s already checking it out now. Yep, if you’re waiting for the physical version of the game, it’s time to batten down the hatches,as people have been playing the game early thanks to some loose copies. If you don’t want the game spoiling, it might be best to avoid the internet for a few days.
