Death Stranding 2has a ton of cameos and special appearances as you’d expect, but by far the best one is a playable minigame starring one of gaming’s most well-known mascots -Pac-Man.
As anyone who has played the originalDeath Strandingwill no doubt be aware of,Hideo Kojima loves to include a bunch of cameos and guest appearances in his games. Death Stranding 2 is no different, and actually takes it even further withall of the well-known celebrities it shines a face-scanned spotlight on.
As great as it is seeing Ma Dong-seok and Woodkid, therealbest cameo in Death Stranding 2 is one that doesn’t focus on an actor or musician. Instead, it brings one of the most famous gaming characters of all time to the world of Death Stranding, and even makes him briefly playable.

I am, of course, talking about Pac-Man, who is the last person (dot?) I expected to see Sam Porter Bridges interact with. Earlier this week,Kojima Productions actually highlighted one of the game’s most surprising moments in a tweet, and confirmed Pac-Man’s appearance in the game before most players would have the chance to run into him.
As shown off by the official Kojima Productions Twitter account, Death Stranding 2’s Pac-Man cameo can be encountered if you complete enough missions for the Pizza Chef,who is himself a cameo of Ghost in the Shell filmmaker Mamoru Oshii.
If you help him out with deliveries enough, Pizza Chef will give you a rather familiar-looking slice of pizza in the shape of Pac-Man’s head. Sam will then eat it and briefly be able to play a Pac-Man minigame, which sees the legendary puck eating BTs on the game’s map.
BTs are basically ghosts, so it actually makes more sense than I’d care to admit. I’m just waiting for it to be considered canon.
Beyond being a surprising and frankly awesome inclusion, Pac-Man actually has some in-game use,as the BTs that he eats on the game’s map will actually disappear for a time. It’s not clear if you can do the minigame again at any point or if it’s just a one-time thing, but it’s still the clear winner for Death Stranding 2’s cameos.
