Death Stranding 2is finally here, and for most people,it will act as a chill walking simulatorthat has you delivering packages to those in need. For the completionists out there, myself included, it’s time to stick on a podcast and scour the deserts for lost cargo in an attempt to max out the reputation of every single place of interest you come across.
Death Stranding 2’s reputation grind can be a little grating, especially if you try to max out every area in Mexico before moving to the game’s next location (you shouldn’t do that, by the way), but there is a way to make things significantly easier for yourself.First shared by Reddit user Idontcare235, Death Stranding 2 has a hidden feature that attempts to stop you from maxing out a location’s reputation in just a couple of deliveries.
Death Stranding 2 Gives You More Reputation For Handing In Lost Cargo Individually
In what is likely an attempt to get players to keep making deliveries to the same location, or to make sure players don’t miss upgrade dialogue, Death Stranding 2 seemingly doesn’t allow you to earn more than one star of reputation with a single delivery, regardless of how big it is. That means if you’ve been piling Lost Cargo on top of your deliveries to get as much reputation as possible, it’s essentially meaningless after a certain point.
Instead, you actually get more reputation if you hand in Lost Cargo individually. Idontcare235 demonstrates this in their post, showing that they only got one and a half stars when handing in Lost Cargo in bulk, but got an extra star when handing in one at a time, despite having the exact same number of likes from La Madre.
In fact, this is actually a feature of the original Death Stranding too, so if you were wondering why reputation grinding was taking a while in that game, now you have your answer. To fix it, all you need to do is hand in Lost Cargo individually if you’re close to maxing out a star, and you should get the most reputation for your delivery. Happy trails!
