Death Stranding 2: On the Beachplayers are all in agreement that they really, reallywant Sam’s coat from the game’s prologue as an unlockable costume, which I can’t believe isn’t already a thing.

The opening hours ofDeath Stranding 2are very wild. Not only do we reconnect with Sam and an older, adorable Lou,but we also get given a mission to connect a massive part of Mexico to the Chiral Network. Even with the big spoiler-y moments that happen towards the end of the prologue, there’s one clear highlight.

I am, of course, talking about Sam’s excellent drip. At two separate points during the game’s prologue where Sam isn’t really acting as a porter,Sam is seen sporting a coat that fits him remarkably. It’s easily the best outfit in the game, but good luck getting it once you start delivering packages again.

Sam’s Badass Coat Is Nowhere To Be Found Outside Of Death Stranding 2’s Intro

Kojima Can’t Keep Getting Away With This

Despite the coat literally being in the game and wearable for a few scenes, it seems like there’s no way to actually unlock it as a wearable outfit. As Redditor Keaton_x pointed out in a post on the Death Stranding subreddit, that’s a huge miss and something that everyone wants to see fixed.

The post is currently one of the most-liked on the Death Stranding subreddit over the past few days, which goes to show just how much we all want the coat to be unlockable. If, like me, you’re only a few hours into the game, you might hope that it pops up much much later, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

This isn’t the first time that Kojima has given players an awesome outfit and then cast it off into the ether. We all remember Venom Snake’s awesome goggles, right?

Some players in the comments have confirmed that the coat doesn’t become unlockableeven when you’ve beaten the game. There’s a chance that it’s hidden behind 100 percent completion or something wild like that, but for now it seems to be missing outside of the prologue.

Don’t lose hope just yet, though. The first Death Stranding was pretty regularly updated after it released, and PlayStation has listened to the players in the past when it comes to massively requested outfits. God Of War Ragnarok did theexact same thing with Kratos' badass fur, only to add it as an outfit further down the line.
