Death Stranding 2is a pretty stressful game at times, asking you to trek (but mostly drive) back and forth between preppers and distribution centers, delivering the things that people need to survive. For the truly dedicated porters out there, you’re able to work on maxing out a single location’s reputation for some neat rewards, and getting every facility to five stars is a feat that a lot of Death Stranding completionists out there strive towards.
Unfortunately, in Death Stranding 2, it’s a feat that’s breaking a lot of people. On the Death Stranding subreddit, a user called Canxtanwe has had a post in which they call the grind towards five stars at every facility “exhausting” blow up in popularity. In the post, they explain how they find it “frustrating” to carry cargo across the map, managing to accumulate over 1,000 likes, only for the reputation towards five stars to move up by a tiny number.
Death Stranding 2 Fans Are Getting Burnt Out By “Exhausting” 5 Stars Grind
In the comments, they go on to explain that they find the late game areas to be the worst offenders, calling the progression “sluggish”, and claiming that it hurst the game as a result. It appears to be a pretty popular complaint too, as most of the comments to the post are about people detailing their own experiences of trying to nab five stars, and some of the places that they struggled with the most.
For example, a user called StopReadingThis-Now calls one of the late game areas “utterly ridiculous”, bemoaning the massive amount of likes that some places need, despite not even having good enough rewards to justify the effort. There are others that admit to putting the main story on hold until they get five stars, and finding out that they’re putting off the story a lot longer than they’d like.
There are som theories as to why this might be happening, as some people recommend finishing the game before you go for the five stars on everything, claiming it speeds things up.You can also hand in items one at a time when starting off a facility, as Death Stranding 2 doesn’t let you earn more than one star on a single delivery to stop you missing dialogue or rewards.
Since it’s not a set number of likes you need to earn five stars, there seems to be some debate as to how it actually works, so it might be best to just leave facilities alone if you feel yourself getting burnt out. You have all the time in the world to make sure Pizza Chef is happy.
