Death Strandingis one of the strangest games out there, full of little quirks and bizarre instances that make you put your controller down and really make you wonder what you’re playing.Sam and Deadman’s slightly erotic, fully-clothed shower sceneis just one of them that made me take a breather for a minute before continuing.
One of the more popular of these little quirks was the fourth-wall break that happens when you try and catch a peek at Sam’s crotch. We’ve seen games likeNier Automata and Stellar Blade acknowledge when a player is being a bit of a perv, and Death Stranding does the same, as Sam will shoo the camera away when you stare at his privates for too long. Get caught a few times,and Sam will give you the firm smack that you fully deserve.
Now thatDeath Stranding 2is here, fans understandably rushed to the nearest safe house to catch a peek at Sam’s junk once again, hopeful that another silly little easter egg of the same kind would be included. Unfortunately, it seems as though Sam is no longer concerned about people staring at his package, as he just sits there like nothing is happening.
A Reddit user called B4umkuch3m shared the video to the Death Stranding subredditshowing us the scene in question, calling the game “literally unplayable” now that we know the fourth-wall break isn’t included. Another user called Agreeable-Camp8881 follows up by admitting that it was the first thing they did too, and added that “zooming in on his feet also yields no response.”
In fact, zooming in on Sam gets you very little in Death Stranding 2, as players are reporting a lot less private room interactions this time around. According to B4umkuch3m, the most you’ll get from Sam is a little wink, so don’t be wasting your time by analyzing every single part of his body hoping for a reaction.
