Dead by Daylighthas more players on PC right now than it has in its lifetime. Over onSteam, the concurrent player record has been beaten, with the last record set four years ago.
The previous record was 105,093, so there are even more fans than that logged in through Steam right now. This comes as the game’sFive Nights at Freddy’s crossover goes live, adding a bunch of new content to the game, including Springtrap as a Killer.
You can check out the player count over onSteamDB. At the time of writing, there are 105,185 players online at once on Steam alone, so this isn’t even accounting for those on other platforms.
Given the size - and the dedication - of the Five Nights at Freddy’s community, this is hardly surprising. It’s a perfect fit for Dead by Daylight, combining two popular horror games for this unqiue chapter.
There’s also a whole lot included in the update. Springtrap is a playable killer, bringing FNAF’s iconic jump scares to Dead by Daylight. There’s also a new map, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and new skins.
One of these skins even provides new voicelines, courtesy of Matthew Lillard. The Yellow Rabbit skin for Springtrap is the one you’ll be after if you want to hear these new lines, as Lillard reprises his role from the live-action FNAF film.
This is all part of the 36th chapter of Dead by Daylight. It became available just a few hours ago, so this concurrent player record was broken in no time at all.
