Summary
Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Editionwas aSwitch 2launch title, letting those who only stick withNintendoconsoles finally explore Night City. Better yet, the controls are very versatile - even more so than was initially advertised.
Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 has mouse support, that much we knew already, and the option for this can be found in the game’s settings. However, as it turns out, it has keyboard support too, even if there isn’t an option for this. All you have to do is hook up a mouse and keyboard, and you’re able to start playing Cyberpunk 2077 as if you were on PC.
The Switch 2 Version Of Cyberpunk 2077 Has Full Keyboard Support, It Just Doesn’t Tell You That It Does
This was spotted by a few early players online, including YouTuber Blunty, who shared the find in a video. Here, you can see that the keyboard controls work just as if you were playing on PC.
The only difference is that the text showing you the controls is a bit cut off in places. This could either mean that a keyboard and mouse option was intended to be in the game settings, but was scrapped during development, or the devs just had this in there to test out the game during development.
Another downside is that you can’t rebind the keys, since the keyboard isn’t mentioned in the settings at all. Still, the default options should be fairly intuitive, letting you play Cyberpunk 2077 in a way few of us would have expected to be able to play it on Switch 2.
Of course, you can play it with a bunch of other control combinations too, using the mouse alongside other setups. It also supportsgyro controls, if you fancy having to aim your weapons for real when you’re in the middle of a gunfight.
Alongside the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2,CD Projekt Redhas also told us thatwe’re getting another update. We’ll have towait and see what that entails, but we can expect it to hit PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC later this month (ongoing support for PS4 and Xbox One was halted in 2022).
