Clair Obscur: Expedition 33has been a lot more popular than anyone was anticipating. The Sandfall hit was in such high demand at launch thatits physical edition sold out within a week of the game’s launch. The team behind the game has been doing its best to rectify that, the latest example of that being a second chance to pick up Clair’s Lumiere Edition.
It was revealed over the weekend thatGameStop would be restocking its exclusive Lumiere Edition. The special, slightly more expensive version of Clair Obscur comes with a physical copy of the game in a SteelBook, a physical artbook dubbed The Expeditioner’s Journal, and all of the in-game extras that come with the digital deluxe version of the game.
Although Clair Obscur has been celebrated for being a $50 game in an industry where big studios are moving towards $80 being the standard, the Lumiere Edition is slightly more expensive. $69.99, so still less than what seems to be quickly becoming the new standard, and you’re getting a lot more than just the game, as noted above.
Clair Fans Are Being Given A Second Chance To Buy Its Lumiere Edition
The Physical Edition With Exclusive Extras Will Be Re-Released Later This Year
Unfortunately,only thePS5version of Clair’s Lumiere Editionappears to be getting a re-release. You’ll also have to wait to get your hands on a physical copy of Clair and everything that comes with it, as since Sandfall wasn’t prepared for its debut game’s popularity,reprinted copies of its Lumiere Edition won’t be released until June 15, 2025.
The upside is that presumably means Sandfall and GameStop are preparing as many Lumiere Editions as they need to fulfill orders. That’s why, even though at the time of typing this, the Lumiere Edition is once again listed as being unavailable at GameStop, all is not lost. The listing went live on June 6, and pre-orders have been available again periodically over the weekend. I’m assuming that the approach is a mix of making sure the page isn’t swamped with Clair fans trying to get their hands on an edition of the game they assumed was gone for good, and everyone involved carefully gauging that they can source enough stock to meet demand.
The re-release of the Lumiere Edition comes two weeks afterSandfall revealed Clair’s Monolith Set. After the game’s collector’s edition sold out before the game had even launched, the team behind the game released the Monolith set. It includes everything that came with the CE minus the game since everyone who missed out on the collector’s edition but still wants it presumably already has it, or has played it onXbox Game Pass.
