There have been a few unexpected hits during the first half of 2025, but none of them have hit quite as hard asClair Obscur: Expedition 33. A game that wound up being so popular, its physical edition sold out everywhere within days of its release. The studio behind it has been trying to rectify that, but supply is still low, and demand is still high.
Supply is not so low that Clair Obscur’s physical edition is nowhere to be found, though. After selling out at the end of April, Amazon had physical copies of the Game of the Year contender back in stock on Monday, but they were sold out within the hour. That’s not what I’m here to tell you, though. I’m here to tell you that since then,Amazon has been sporadically adding more Clair stock, so you might still be in with a chance of finding one.
By my count at the time of typing this, Amazon has restocked physical copies of Clair 14 times in four days. The even better news is that the most recent restock on Thursday was the one that lasted the longest before the game sold out again. There was a five-hour window on Thursday when physical copies of Clair were available to buy. Yes, I’m sure you’re kicking yourselves right now if you’ve been trying to find one and missed out, but hey, that means there’s hope.
There might not be hope for all of you, actually. Only thePS5version of Clair Obscur has been getting restocked. Bad news for physical media-lovingXboxowners who noticedalmost none of the platform’s latest releases are getting physical versions.
Don’t Give Up On Getting A Physical Copy Of Clair Obscur
Amazon Has Some, It’s Just Being Coy About It
Amazon’s Expedition 33 restocks come after other attempts by Sandfall to get physical copies of its debut games into the hands of anyone who wants one.The more expensive Lumiere Edition experienced similar restocks at GameStoprecently, andSandfall also released something it dubbed the Monolith Set.
The Monolith Set is a little different as it doesn’t include a copy of that game. There’s a good reason for that, though. Clair’s collector’s edition sold out even faster than the regular standard edition. However, the Monolith Set includes everything that came with the collector’s edition minus a copy of the game. That’s because it’s aimed at fans who wanted the collector’s edition but missed out due to how quickly it was snapped up.
