Summary

Chronicles Medieval, the debut title of Raw Power Games, was announced at tonight’sSummer Game Fest.

In one of his more unexpected appearances, actor Tom Hardy was the narrator of Chronicles Medieval’s high-budget trailer. The trailer depicts everything you’d expect in medieval Europe: catholicism, torrential rain and quite a lot of death.

The trailer also has some impressive visuals, though we don’t know what the final product will look like. There’s a small section of gameplay at the end of the trailer, which shows the player character as a commander-type, with two health bars visible atop the screen, presumably the health bars of two opposing forces.

Forge Your Destiny

There’s a touch of Mount & Blade about Chronicles Medieval — a medieval European sandbox where the objective is to dominate the land by assembling a large army.

“Enter our vibrant medieval Europe — a sprawling sandbox of unrest, invasions, and alliances. Create your character and experience a path filled with conflict and opportunity,” reads the description on the game’s website.

“Master medieval warfare with skill and strategy. Recruit, train, and lead troops into epic battles. Command historical units like the sharp-eyed English Longbowmen or the devastating French cavalry, issue orders, and fight alongside friends in custom battles,” the description continues.

The Witcher composer Adam Skorupa will be leading the music direction of Chronicles Medieval.

The multiplayer aspect of the game could be a major focus for the title, as there’s going to be an early access period in 2026, presumably to test the multiplayer components.

It’s been a popular year for medieval Europe, considering the massive success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
