Dave Bautista launched his very own production company in 2022, Dogbone Entertainment. Having worked on movies like My Spy sequel The Eternal City, the studio has just announced its most ambitious project to date. Cat Assassin, a franchise Dogbone is working on alongside Titan1Studios, and it all starts with a game.

As revealed by Game Rant, while Cat Assassin’s introduction to the world will be via a video game, there are already big plans for the series. Titan1Studios and Dogbone Entertainment are hoping this initial project will kick off a universe that won’t just spin off into multiple video games, but also an animated series and a series of comic books.

The video game comes first, though, and the ambitious project aims to take inspiration from various other well-loved series and combine them into a “gritty neo-noir world” where, instead of humans, the inhabitants are cats. According to its creators, Cat Assassin will combine the gameplay ofAssassin’s Creedwith the tactical espionage ofSplinter Cell, along with the fluid combat ofSifu. Lofty goals, but a heck of a game if it manages to incorporate the best of all those worlds.

Introducing Cat Assassin

A Whole New Universe That Will Start With A Video Game

On top of all that, the game will likely invoke memories ofStray. There’s a very good reason for that, and it’s not just because both games have cats in them.Steve Lerner, the writer behind Stray, is the creator of Cat Assassinand its dark, feline-filled world. Lerner has not only had a hand in creating the game that will kick off the Cat Assassin universe, but will seemingly play a key role in all of its projects moving forward.

“I’m thrilled to collaborate with Titan1Studios, Dave Bautista, and Dogbone Entertainment to expand Hugh’s story and delve deeper into this unique and dangerous feline underworld,” Lerner said when discussing the project. Who’s Hugh, I hear you ask? He’s the star of the show. The leading cat in Cat Assassin, who, if he’s going to be the protagonist across all forms of Cat Assassin media, we’re seemingly going to get to know pretty well over the coming years.

To kick things off, Hugh will find himself warring with cartels, power brokers, and if I were to hazard a guess, and this is purely me speculating at this stage, maybe another cat assassin or two, eventually. Stay tuned for more news on the first Cat Assassin game and everything that comes after in the coming months.
