Early on in your journey throughDune: Awakening, you’ll be tasked with constructing a basic sub-fief in the South Hagga Basin. After you complete the game’s main tutorial, you’ll then be able to build multiple sub-fiefs all across the vast and varied desert. But, you might be wondering just how many you may build?

Beyond that, it’s fair to ask how many you should build and what the benefits are to building multiple sub-fiefs. After all, there are pros and cons to having multiple sub-fiefs. So, if you’re wondering where to start, here’s everything you need to know about constructing multiple bases in Dune: Awakening.

Grand Total

This means, while you can have three advanced sub-fief consoles, you cannot have three basic bases.

You will likely need at least one advanced sub-fief console anyway, asbasic consoles are extremely limited in size and functionality.

Should You Build Multiple Sub-Fiefs?

Just because you’re able to build multiple sub-fiefs in Dune: Awakening doesn’t necessarily mean that you should. There aresome pros and cons to consider.

Details

Reduce Travel Time

Having multiple bases cancut down on your travel timesignificantly across Arrakis.

It’s a good idea tobuild multiple sub-fiefs in key areaswhere you harvest resources, and perhaps even have one in the Deep Desert for refinement purposes.

Extra Storage

The more sub-fiefs you have, the more storage spaceyou’ll have for extra resources.

Refine Resources

The more sub-fiefs you have, the more optimized your production will beoverall.

Taxation

First of all, it’s important to note thateach Advanced Sub-Fief you have will be taxed. This means, if you have three in operation, your taxes will go up significantly.

Basic sub-fief consoles are not taxed, so it can be a good idea to have at least one sub-fief be a basic one to avoid higher taxes.

Fuel Generation

Regardless of whether or not your base uses an advanced or basic console, the base requires fuel to run and operate its shields.

This can prove costlyacross three bases. To power your base effectively, consider using wind turbines and alternative means of power generation.

Ultimately, when it comes to having multiple sub-fiefs,save having multiples until you’re in more of the late-gamephases of Dune: Awakening.

There’s not much point early on in having a ton of extra sub-fiefs, and this can prove to be a detriment in the early game.
