Activisionrecently stamped out rumors suggestingCall of Duty: Black Ops 7will bring back wallrunning to the series alongside the long-awaited return of jetpacks. However, those rumors have now been revived thanks to some leaked images because I don’t know about you, but that looks a lot like a jetpack on that one player’s back to me.

This is no dubious leak from someone who might not be telling the whole truth either. These new images of Black Ops 7 come directly fromXbox’s Call of Duty app where they were accidentally shared a little early (thanks,CharlieIntel). The leaked images reveal that the next CoD will have a new 20v20 mode, as well as another new mode called Overload which will pit teams of six against each other as they attempt to deliver an EMP to their enemy’s HQ.

The new modes coming to the series later this year are what has caught everybody’s attention, of course, but it’s something in the background of that second image that has caught my eye. It’s not in use, so it’s impossible to confirm, but the player off to the right, the one with his back to us that’s shooting at an enemy diving in front of him, really looks like they’re wearing a jetpack.

It May Have Also Revealed It Was Fibbing About The Return Of Jetpacks

The diving player also looks like they might have been propelled by something akin to a jetpack, too, although it’s also possible they’re just diving.

Call of Duty fans have been hopeful that jetpacks might be making their triumphant return in Black Ops 7 ever since references to new types of movement were discovered in the game’s files. Those rumors, along with the ones suggesting the new type of movement might be wallrunning, were quickly squashed by Activisionvia the official Call of Duty podcast.

Now the contraption in the leaked pics has started the rumor mill back up again. It certainly wouldn’t be beyond the realms of possibility for Activision to be trying to make us think one thing when, actually, something else entirely is happening. That was the premise of the Black Ops 7 reveal trailer, which had us all thinking we were getting a first look at a very different game before the title card was revealed at the end.

As with anything related to Call of Duty, the potential of jetpacks returning to the series has players split. Perhaps not as split asthe additions of Beavis and Butt-Head to Black Ops 6. The arrivals of the animated characters are a far cry from the CoD game of old, and many, myself among them, are baffled by the crossover.
