Whileit’s already been confirmedthatBorderlands 4won’t cost $80, and will instead stick to the traditional $69.99 pricepoint, Gearbox Software CEO still can’t help himself from discussing the game’s price.

This time, instead of talking about real fans and finding a way to make it happen, Pitchford has instead opted to discuss how quickly Borderlands 4 will go on sale or end up on a subscription service likeGame Pass.

Borderlands 4 Will Take Years To Go On Sale, According to Randy Pitchford

Taking to Twitter, Pitchford, in response to word that Borderlands 3 is up to 95 percent off in the Steam Summer Sale, said that “to set expectations,” it’ll take even longer for Borderlands 4 to go on sale or end up in a subscription than it did for Borderlands 3.

It’s worth noting that Pitchford himself isn’texactlyin charge of such decisions. For instance, a retailer could offer Borderlands 4 on sale immediately after it releases, and if a good enough financial proposition comes fromSonyorMicrosoftto put the game on subscription, thenTake-Twoand2Kcould wind up on those programs.

Either way, his comments represent yet another instance of Pitchford opting to discuss money, rather than, you know, promote the game. Before this,he tried explaining his claims, and then after that, opted to discuss “real fans” once more in relation to a free offering.
