Just last month, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchfordrefused to comment on how much Borderlands 4 would cost, saying that he doesn’t “know what the price is going to be”.
Players were worried that it might joinMario Kart Worldas part of the $80 club, to which Pitchford responded,“If you’re a real fan, you’ll make it happen”. Suffice it to say,the community didn’t take his comment well, especially as it seemed to confirm that it would be the most expensive entry in the series. But after all that controversy, it doesn’t even cost $80 — you’ll just have to tip Pitchford that extra ten bucks to earn your stripes as a ‘real fan’.
As announced in the latest2K blog, the standard edition of Borderlands 4 will cost $69.99, finally putting the issue to bed.

Includes the base game, all bonus digital content from the Deluxe Edition, the Vault Hunter Pack (two story packs, each with their own new Vault Hunter), two new map regions, additional Vault Hunter cosmetics, and the Ornate Order Pack.
Pre-Orders Are Live Now
You can pre-order Borderlands 4 right now (which Pitchford claims is better than Borderlands 3 and even BL2) on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and EGS, ahead of its September 12 launch.
Regardless of what version you buy, pre-ordering will grant you the Gilded Glory Pack, which features one Vault Hunter skin, one weapon skin, and a unique ECHO-4 Drone skin. If you miss this window, the Gilded Glory Pack will also be sold separately after launch.
Borderlands 4 will release on Nintendo Switch 2 “later in 2025.”
Of course, if you choose to buy the standard edition, you can also pick up the Bounty Pack Bundle and Vault Hunter Pack separately, giving you access to each of the post-launch DLC packs and new Vault Hunters when they release.
