Randy Pitchford hosted a specialBorderlands 4Fan Fest live stream today fromPAX East 2025. Unfortunately, our girl Lilith was nowhere to be seen during the debut of the new story trailer.

Earlier this year, we got excited about thepotential return of everyone’s favorite Siren, Lilith, during Sony’sState of Playevent. Lilith’s dramatic disappearance (read, “death”) at the end ofBorderlands 3left many fans excited to learn more about her fate. The earlier showcase made many references to her, including showing a mission objective called “Find Lilith”.

This Witch Went To The Moon

But God Knows If She’s Coming Back

Today’s showcase started with the new story trailerand a sneak peek at the new Vault Hunters and, obviously, a preview of key enemies and areas in the upcoming game. Afterwards, Pitchford enthusiastically told the story of Borderlands, with many more mentions of Lilith and her journey, but then turned to outline a few of the new features players can expect.

We still don’t know the fate of Lilith, who teleported off to the moon to prevent catastrophe at the end of Borderlands 3. While she appeared as a boss, Evil Lilith, in the 4th DLC:Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, not much else is known, but I’m still holding out hope for her return in the sequel.

During the showcase,Pitchford confirmed that cross-platformplay is coming at launch. They also showed off the new traversal systems like double jumping, grappling, and gliding. And finally, swimming is also coming, and Borderlands will no longer use water as an artificial boundary for players.

Near the end, they showed off the new gun system that blends various gun manufacturers to create endless possibilities. You’ll be able to find a gun that mixes Maliwan’s unique elemental power with Hyperion’s accuracy and recoil, along with many other functions across all manufacturers. This sounds very interesting, unless you have my bad luck and end up with a feature you hate ruining an otherwise perfect roll.

In addition to these new features, Randy Pitchford confirmedthe removal of the minimapand the introduction of the new (and optional) combat radar, which he showed off today on Twitter, but is still missing from gameplay and streams.

Pitchford has been riding a recentwave of controversyafter saying that “real fans” would find a way to pay $80 for Borderlands 4, but Gearbox responded to the backlash with a steep franchise sale immediately after. During the showcase today, he made sure to tongue-in-cheekly mention that the price will only be $69.99.
