Borderlandshas a unique way of uniting its fans, sometimes in the face of the worst possible situations. Earlier this year, when Randy Pitchford made some harsh comments regarding the game’s potential price and “real fans,“those same fansbanded together to tell Pitchford he could keep the game.

For the record,Borderlands 4 won’t cost $80, as it was revealed to have a normal pricetag.

Similarly, fans also didn’t take too kindly to the game’s “Collector’s Edition,” not including the game itself,or therather meaty PC requirements needed to boot things up. Now, Gearbox is seemingly trying to tap into the spiritedBorderlands 4community by offering fans a chance to name a Legendary weapon for the upcoming title.

Unfortunately or Fortunately, None Of The Options Involve Toilet Humor

As first shared on Twitter, over the course of three days of fan voting, gamers can help leave their mark on Borderlands 4 by coming up with a Legendary weapon name.

The contest takes a sports-like bracket approach with various names pitted against each other, with the final two names standing set to become the weapon’s first and last name.

Voting, which takes place on the Borderlands 4 website, has fans picking between multiple words, with options being whittled down in the coming days. Some of the final results could be things like: Fallen Bane, Midnight Howl or Chaos Bite. They’re all relatively “edgy,” though none stray into toilet humor.

Right now, it’s unclear if the weapon has already been designed and is simply pending a name, or if it’ll be made to reflect the name that fans pick. Either way, it represents a rather fun way to get the community involved in a more positive way. Here’s hoping Chaos Bite makes the cut.
