The First Trailer For Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement Is Here

While the trailer gives us a look at both the story and gameplay of Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement, the video’s description gives us even more detail:

“Set in a haunting world years before the events of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement follows Leo and the fearless Black Wolves as they prepare to storm the cursed Ethereal Castle and confront the rising darkness. Under the command of Lord Theodore, the warriors face horrific beasts and the malevolent Demon Lord Elias in a brutal battle for humanity’s survival.”

While Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement was revealed at the State of Play, the devs have since confirmed that it won’t be exclusive to PS5. As per a social media post shared shortly after the reveal, the game is also coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S. We’re not in for much of a wait either, as it’s set to be with us at some point in 2026, like quite a few of the games revealed at today’s showcase.

It may seem like Bloodstained fans have been waiting for a while, but in reality, this reveal comes a year after the final DLC for Ritual of the Night was released. So, the team at ArtPlay has certainly been busy, but is now ready to move on from its metroidvania hit. In fact, the sequel appears to have started development around four years ago, as that’s whenthe devs confirmed that a follow-up was on the way- the team just wanted to finish the first game before focusing on what comes next.
