Bloodbornefans may be the most tortured fanbase on the planet. With Hollow Knight: Silksong set to launch this year, andmore news of Half-Life 3 actually existing than ever before, Bloodborne fans have been left on their own to pray for a game that just doesn’t look like it’s coming at all.
In fact, it seems as though Sony is going out of its way to make sure everything apart from a Bloodborne remaster actually happens. According to fairly reputable gaming and movie insider DanielRPK earlier this week,a live-action Bloodborne movie is in development, and that’s all the project needs to go ahead is a director.
For most people, a live-action movie adaptation of their favorite game would be something to get a little bit excited about, as was the case with Alex Garland’s Elden Ring movie that we know is on the way. However, given that Bloodborne is now over a decade old, and we still have no word on if it’s ever going to be updated for modern systems, some aren’t taking the news very well.
Bloodborne Fans Are Giving Up On A Remaster Following Live-Action Movie Rumors
Outside of people taking the mickey, claiming half the movie is going to be about farming Blood Vials, you have those that are baffled as to why the game would be getting a move when PlayStation has been neglected for so long. For example, Reddit user DlanShfta posted a picture of the news to the game’s subreddit, with the capReddit user DlanShftation “anything but 60fps”.
In that same thread, you can find loads of comments saying “nobody asked for this” and more begging for a PS5 remaster, and one user on Twitter called Onlyuchigatanaeven jokes that PlayStation must have “lost the source code” if it’s making movies and not giving the actual game some love. Personally, I’ve tapped out, and my mental health is much better because of it.
