I know just as well as you how much it cansuckto lose your 50/50 on aGenshin Impactbanner. You spend weeks saving your primogems and getting ready to whale on the character that’s caught your eye, only for a completely random five-star character to appear instead.
Anytime you lose your Genshin Impact 50/50 on an event banner, you’ll get one of the five-star characters from the Wanderlust Invocation banner instead, the permanent banner. There are eight five-star characters to whom you may lose your event 50/50 in Genshin Impact, but we’re hoping you won’t see them much!
Tenacity of the Millelith
Role
Support
While Qiqi definitely has merit when it comes to exploring the ever-growing world of Teyvat (carefully applying her skills to make ice bridges across water can come in handy), she places last on our list for a few reasons. We’ve actually already alluded to one: her skills takeforeverto cool down, compared to the other five-star characters. You can get quicker healers than her!
Qiqi is a Cryo user who can deal Cryo damage while healing the team, but since all of her skills have such a long cooldown timer, it can be hard to get the hang of the timing. If you’re using her for Cryo, you may want to put her in a party with another Cryo user to double-down, since she’ll take a moment before she’s ready to ice enemies out again.
DPS
While you may absolutely find use with Dehya’s Pyro abilities and heavy-hitting claymore attacks, she doesn’t place too highly on the character tier list in terms of DPS, which is kind of her main draw. She’s got one of the highest base HP levels in Genshin Impact, but she doesn’t deal quite so much damage in exchange for being able to tank damage herself.
Her skills have an 18-second cooldown time, which renders you with quite a window during which you don’t have Pyro access, so she’s not the best on teams where outright Pyro damage is the goal. She’s a pretty good accessory in that she can take a hit, but we wish she could dish those hits out, too.
We’re moving up the tier list a little now, but you’ll still want to have the right team comp for Yumemizuki Mizuki if you’re planning to use her as your driver on a Swirl team. Unfortunately, she becomes incompatible with some of the best teammatesfora swirl team given the rules of her skills, but if you’re using her with anyone other than Yelan or Xingqiu, you’ll be okay.
You’ll need to watch her HP, though, since her skills become less effective if she’s below 70 percent of her HP. She rapidly becomes more powerful as you continue to lose your 50/50 to her, but at the base level, she can be a little tough to work with.
Keqing will eventually be able to deal some really solid Electro damage, in addition to her wild combos and charged attacks from her swords, but you’ll need to lose your 50/50 to her more than once before she’s truly viable.
She’ll be able to play well on Dendro Electro team comps to sharpshoot Aggravate, but her second constellation is what makes her fast enough to do this consistently enough to not fall behind other, quicker Electro users. After you’ve lost to her a second time, though, you’ll be able to hasten the process.
While some players can struggle to use bow characters effectively, Tighnari does amazing damage when using his charged attack from a range, starting most fights off with a huge Dendro advantage that can allow you to move into Burning or Quickened effects quickly with the right team comp.
After you hit his second constellation to gain a20 percent increase to his Dendro bonus, Tighnari becomes one of the more impressive Dendro users in the game. Being able to shoot four arrows instead of one will be a colossal help, especially with that boost on him.
When Genshin Impact was still relatively in its infancy, Diluc used to bethePyro character if you’re playing to the meta. With time, though, he’s been outshone in a few avenues, but you’ll have a consistent application of Pyro with Diluc’s claymore attacks and relatively quick cooldown times.
Additionally, Diluc scales with his crit rate, which will definitely help to home in on with Artifacts if you’re trying to use him as your DPS character. With Xianyun, you’ll be able to use him on Plunge teams nowadays, too!
If you’re running a team focused on using elemental reactions as part of your damage output plan, Mona can be a huge help, especiallyon teams with varying elemental coverage. She plays especially well on teams inflicting Freeze, using her Elemental Burst to soak a large area and allowing Cryo users a chance to really shine.
Not only will this get enemies wet, priming them for an elemental follow-up, but it makes enemies take increased damage from any subsequent attack that triggers an elemental reaction. Get her out onto the battlefield early and she’ll steer the team to victory.
Jean wouldn’t be the captain of the Knights of Favonious without a reason, so we’re not surprised she’s one of the best five-star characters to lose your 50/50 to. She deals pretty good damage, sure, but she comes in the handiest whenused as support for Swirl damage teams.
Scale Jean off her Attack and Elemental Mastery, since her healing improves as her attack power does and her Swirl capabilities expand rapidly with her Elemental Mastery. A final boost is that, if you lose the 50/50 to her a second time, her C2 constellation is a rare one for Genshin: it improves her attack speed, too.
