It’s clear that there’s a lot of love between the Skyblivion team and Bethesda, and the studio has demonstrated that once again with a touching little shout-out during a recent developer spotlight for Development Lead Dan Lee (thanks PC Gamer).
Bethesda Further Endorses Skyblivion With A Touching Shout-Out
In the video, Lee talks about his work at Bethesda over the years, having helped out on massive projects like the original Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and the recently released Oblivion Remastered. He then goes on to list some of the fan projects that he’s seen during his time at the studio that he’s a big fan of, and specifically mentions Skyblivion.
“Even though I worked on Oblivion Remastered,” said Lee. “I’m still excited for Skyblivion. I think what they’re doing is very special, and I’m excited to see their interpretation of what we’ve done in the past. I think it’s a great year for Oblivion fans.”
It is indeed a great year for Oblivion fans, as Skyblivion is scheduled to release at some point in 2025 too. There was some speculation whether the official remaster had thrown a spanner in the works, but those behind the project have said thatboth titles can “exist and thrive together”, and thatthe team is “all love and no hate” towards Bethesda. After all, who wouldn’t want two helpings of Oblivion?
