Summary
The Sims 2players are already familiar with the basic seven skills you can grow during the game. Body, Charisma, Cooking, Cleaning, Creativity, Logic, and Mechanical skills are all located in the player interface and easily improved. However, there are secret skills not every player knows you can level up.
These secret skills are only gained with practice of the task and don’t appear anywhere accessible. you’re able to’t see them level up in any official capacity, but you can visually see they have improved the skill, which is why your Sim will suddenly be killing it on the dance floor. The skills below are fun additional hobbies you can work on.
10Study
Focusing on schoolworkcan be hard for students to do on their own, especially if they have other Needs to attend to. However, if an older Sim helps a student with their homework, their secret studying skill will improve.
The student can then complete their homework much quicker, giving them more time to focus on their personal life or part-time job. Both the student and the Sim who helped will also have a nice memory of the groundbreaking study session.
9Chess
While most players know that chess improves the Logic skill, you may not notice your Sim visually improves as you watch them play. It’s subtle, but their actions and words while playing an opponent appear more confident and self-assured.
You will also notice your Sim winning more frequently against other Sims the more they play. You can practice alone or with strangers, and it will improve the Logic skill as well as the Chess secret skill.
8Painting
Painting improves the Creativity skill, as well as a secret Painting skill. The more your Sim practices their painting, the better the art will appear.
As you improve the painting skill, the paintings will be worth more Simoleons. After maxing out your Sims creativity, completed paintings will sell for a lot more, allowing your household to make money from the resulting art.
7Drafting
The SIM Series Drafting Table was added withThe Sims 2: Freetime expansion pack. As a career reward for the Architecture track, it allows your Sim to sketch a blueprint, still life, or custom picture.
The more your Sim drafts, the better the resulting sketch will be. It also increases the Creativity skill and enthusiasm for Arts and Crafts. As the blueprints improve, they will sell for more Simoleons, adding to your household income.
6Writing
Similar to the secret Painting skill, improving your Writing skill increases the amount your Sims’ novels are worth. One Writing skill point is added per completed novel. This means your first novel won’t be worth as much as the next, but each one will steadily increase.
On top of the boost in income, you will also receive a small notification about how well-received the novel was, adding some flavor-text to the game.
Writing is a good way to boost your Sim’s creativity skill, particularly if a Sim must increase the skill for their college degree.
5Meditation
Mediation is available once your Sim has earned three or more logic points and has eight or fewer playful points. This zen hobby requires balance and stillness, so not every Sim is capable right away.
Once your Sim has the ability to meditate, their Motives andAspirationstemporarily freeze while in the act. After meditating for a certain amount of time, they can learn to levitate and eventually teleport.
Sims can meditate in a Zen Garden, which were added with the Bon Voyage expansion. They can be found around Takemizu Village or are available for purchase.
4Dancing
The first time your Sim dances, they’re most likely a chaotic blur of awkward moves with no rhythm. That’s because there is a secret dancing skill you need to level up before they can properly hit the dance floor.
After a few dance sessions, they’ll find the beat and impress other Sims. Teens who can dance qualify for a scholarship, and adult Sims earn the ‘Entertain…Bust A Move’ action, which can increase the relationship with the Sims around them.
3Yoga
While similar to the Meditation skills, Yoga involves the Body skill rather than Logic. With three or more Body points, your Sim can perform the ‘Do Yoga’ action, both indoors and outdoors.
This continues to build their physical skills as well as their secret one. The more they practice, the more advanced the poses are. Once they have nine points in Active and nine points in Body, they can impress others with Coffee Table Yoga, the ultimate Yogi movie in the game.
Pregnant Sims cannot choose the ‘Do Yoga’ self-interaction, but can join a Sim who is doing yoga.
2Pool
Billiards tables are all over The Sims 2, in homes and community lots. If your Sim plays frequently, they can level up their pool game and impress other Sims.
Teens can win a scholarship if they practice enough. If adult Sims are feeling confident, they can try their hand as Hustling other Sims, but they better hope their skill is high enough to get away with the act. If anything, they can impress their friends with cool Trick Shots.
1Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an exercise that was introduced in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage expansion. It’s only learnable by visiting Takemizu Village on vacation and speaking to someone already practicing, so not every Sim has this skill.
Performing Tai Chi helps increase your Sim’s comfort and energy bar, making them feel more serene and confident in themselves.
All Far East Sims know how to do Tai Chi and can perform it on their own.
