Quick Links
One of the main things incentivizing you to consistently progress through the story ofRune Factory: Guardians Of Azumais the staggered release of romanceable and non-romanceable characters. However, you don’t necessarily have to do this if you’re planning to romance one of the starter characters.
Irohais one such character, and she’s unlocked very early in the game. Outside of being a bacholerette, Iroha has a couple of other important uses that will heavily affect your gameplay. However, if you want to marry her, you’ll have to increase your bond with her as fast as possible.
Birthday
Spring 30th
Before you can start increasing your bond and romancing with a certain character, you first have to unlock them through the main story. However, thisisn’t much of an issue with Iroha since she’s the very first romanceable characterthat gets unlocked as you enter the Spring Village and learn about the problems it’s facing.
After a few dialogues, Iroha already gets added to your profile section. However, you might not be able to hang out with heruntil you stabilize the village since the game only introduces you to the bond mechanicafter that. Iroha is the owner of Iroha’s Restaurant found on the street connecting Spring God Shrine and the door leading out of Spring Village.
Iroha is a shy girl, and it doesn’t take a lot to make her blush. Thispersonality is also highlighted in her loved gifts and hangoutsbelow.
As the owner and largely the only person running her restaurant, you can easily find Iroha at the front door most of the time. As you start the day, she’ll first walk from her home in the southeastern part of Spring Village. If you want to hang out with her early, you can find her during this walk. Otherwise, you can head over directly to her restaurant until 10 PM.
On holidays, Iroha doesn’t open the restaurant and can either be found cleaning the Spring God Shrine or, once you unlock other villages, you can find her in a random village by looking for her icon on the top right side.
Best Gifts And Hangouts For Iroha
While playing Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma, nearly every interaction you have with a character can give some increase to your bond value. This includes daily talks with them, using your Plum Branch/Iroha’s Fan near them, taking them out in combat, completing requests for them, and doing their bond quests.
However, the thing that gives you the highest bond value isgiving an item to the character as a gift or hanging out with them every day. If you give a neutral item to the character, you can get an eight bond value, which increases to 16 and 29 for liked and loved gifts. There are also some gifts that you can get 13 value on, but they’re not particularly enjoyed by Iroha.
The bond value you get from hangouts is based on their level and time spent, butit also increases if the character likes the hangout.
Thankfully,Iroha isn’t a particularly difficult characterto please and here’s how you can get high bond value with her:
Loved
Biggest Fan Sandwich
To make this item, you first have to interact with a ton of Frog Statues asyou can get the Cutlet Sandwich recipe from the rewards when you submit that quest to the kid. Once you have the recipe, you have to get Suzu to bond six.
Once both of these are fulfilled, you’re able to create a unique recipe whilecooking the Cutlet Sandwich together with Suzu, resulting in the Biggest Fan Sandwich. It requires one Bread Loaf and one Cutlet to cook, with the latter having a separate recipe.
Matcha Glow Ice
This one is similar to the one above as you need tocreate this unique recipe with Suzu while making Matcha Ice Cream. It requires one milk, one sugar, and one matcha to cook. You can buy the last item from Iroha herself.
Wartime Dango
Wartime Dango is another unique recipe thatyou can make while cooking normal Dango with Sakaki. You can get Dango’s recipe on the same island as the Sage of Sweets side quest. It only requires Rice Flour to make.
As soon as you get Sakaki on bond six, this becomes the best item for Iroha’s bond.
Tri-Color Dango
This is likely the best item you can gift Iroha for the highest bond value during the early game, butthe only way to get it that early is by buying it for Iroha herself. However, you can eventually get its recipe from the Sage of Sweets quest.
Liked
Matcha Ice Cream
You can get the recipe for this at the same time as Cutlet Sandwich from the Frog Statue quest, and it takes the same ingredients as Matcha Glow Ice above. However, since this is only liked by Iroha, it’ll give you significantly less bond.
Dango
As mentioned above, you can simply get this recipe and make it using one Rice Flour.
Green Dango
This is another recipe that you get from the Frog Statue quest quite early. Once acquired, you’re able to make it using Rice Flour and Matcha.
Sugar
You can get this item randomly while exploring but you can also have itsregular supply by creating a Sugar Refineryin your development zones.
Flour
All three of these items can randomly be acquired while exploring, with the first two being rare drops. However, you may easily buy them from Iroha herself when she’s at the restaurantand then give them back to her.
You also have a chance ofgetting these items as a return giftfrom Iroha.
Red Beans
Best Iroha Hangouts
When you select the “Let’s hang out” option after talking to Iroha, which you can only do once a day, you’ll get three options apart from the gift.Since she doesn’t have a simple loved gift during the early game, you can try these separate hangouts to get a high bond value with her. Of course, she enjoys some of them more than the others.
Irohaloves the “Grab a bite to eat at Iroha’s Restaurant” and “Pay a visit to a shrine"hangouts and she likes “Gossip about romance” and “Go shopping” ones. Some of these are only available once you’ve upgraded your Social Activities a bit, and if you see any of them pop up, you can easily go for them.
How Iroha Works In Combat
As one of the first few characters to be unlocked in Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma, you’ll likely have a high bond level on Iroha even without trying. Even if you don’t plan on romancing her, another form of upgrade that you get with bond level is the battle capabilities of the villager since you may take them out to explore with you.
Iroha has the Defender roleduring combat with abilities that can not only taunt the enemies, but also reduce their ATK while increasing your DEF. Here’s what she unlocks with each bond level:
Effect Unlocked
1
Gives her the taunt skillthat can take the enemy’s aggro away from you.
2
Unlocks the Blade Breaker skill, which deals damage to the enemy while lowering their ATK.
3
Unlocks the Maid Headband recipe that can beused as an accessory or just as a normal clothingdesign.
4
Unlocks the defensive stance skill, which boosts her DEF and M.DEF.
5
Gives you the Battle Broom recipe that canbe used as a short sword.
6
Unlocks the Oni Thrasher skill, which dealsheavy damage to Oni enemies.
7
Unlocks the Snack Break Dango skill, which lets her increase her own HP.
8
9
10
Increases Iroha’s DEF.
If you’re about to fight a single-target boss,Iroha can be a decent teammateto take away their aggro.
However, thismakes it difficult to trigger perfect dodge, which is very important in combat.
Iroha Marriage Guide
Once you’ve reached bond ten with Iroha and completed all her bond quests till level nineincluding the three dates you get after committing to her, you can start the process of marrying her. As you get the Plum branch and Divine Spirits, you can ask her out to the Fateweaver Shrine andyou’ll get married the next time you sleep.
you may only ask her to the Fateweaver Shrine on a day when you’re not dating another character. After marriage,Iroha will ask you to have a child every five days. Once you agree, you can choose the gender and personality traits of your kid, after which you’ll get them when another ten days pass.
