When you first start playingRune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma, the story might seem short since the main idea is to find all the gods and give them their power back. However, even after you do that, you’ll be surprised by the sheer amount of story that you still have left as you get introduced to the main villains.
Clariceis one of the most important characters in this story, and as such, unlocking her won’t be an easy task. Even after being unlocked, Clarice serves as one of the hardest characters to romance, but her personality and vibe make it all the more worth it.
Clarice Overview And Common Locations
As you likely already know, the profiles section of Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma is filled with question marks when you first start the game. These marks are replaced with specific characters as you unlock different villages and progress the story. However, one of the marks belonging to romanceable characters will stay for a long time.
This mark belongs to Clarice, who is also the final boss of the game. You’ll have to go through a bunch of story until you canactivate certain shrines that can carry the burden of the gods, which lets them help you in combat. After activating these shrines, you’ll have to go through the Dragon’s Tomb area and fight a bunch of bosses.
These bosses include the loyal companions of Clarice that you’ll findthroughout the story, with one of them being an important figure.
After defeating these companions and reaching the end of the area, you’ll have to battle Clarice herself. At the end of this battle, there will be a long dialogue, which leads to the villagers accepting Clarice as one of their own and unlocking her. After this, you can find Clarice’s home on the bottom right side of the Winter Villagebeside Zaza’s smithy.
If you sleep in the Winter Village, you’re able to find her heading out of this house every morning, making for an easy way to hang out with her and level up your bond. However, once it’s later in the day, Clarice likes hanging out in both the Spring and Winter Village, with chances of finding her in the other two areas as well.
you’re able to look for her icon on the top-right sideof a village to find where she is.
Best Gifts And Hangouts For Clarice
Since Clarice is the final character to unlock in Rune Factory: Guardians Of Azuma, you’ll likely be familiar with the general bond mechanics already. Essentially, you’re able to get bond through daily talks with the character, using your Plum Branch, completing requests for them, and taking them out to battle whenever possible.
However, all these mechanics will give you very little bond progress. The main function giving you most of it is hanging out with the character once a day, whichinvolves both giving them a gift or choosing one of the other hangout events. You’ll have to lose a certain amount of time in your day to trigger these events.
Gifting the character takes away 30 minutes whileother hangouts can range from ten to 60 minutes.
Thankfully, each character has a set of preferences, which lets you get extra bond value on them. For example, you’re able to only get an eight or a 13 bond value for normal gifts on Claricewhile she can give you a 16 or a 24 for her favorite gifts. The bond progress from other hangouts work similarly, with a possibility of a decrease in the bond value as well if the character doesn’t like it.
Here are some of the best gifts and hangouts for Clarice:
Loves
Fur (L)
This is the best gift you’re able to give to Clarice as it’s easy to encounter once you know how to do it and it gives you high bond value as well. You cansimply get it by taming a high-level Woolbyand assigning the best animal-lover villager to its barn.
Wooly Pancakes
This is a unique recipe that requires you to get Clarice on bond level six. Once that happens, you’re able to get this by cooking together with herwhile making Pancakes.

Best Clarice Hangouts
Generally, it’s best to avoid other hangouts with Clarice as she feels neutral about most of them. However, if you see the “Gush about latest fixation” hangout, you can go for itas it uses less time and she likes it. On the other hand, you should avoid “Discuss combat” or “Tell a joke” hangouts.
