Fans of lever-action rifles can finally get their hands on the Essex Model 07 inCall of Duty: Black Ops 6.This is the first lever-action rifle to grace the BO6 sandbox, and it’s arguably one of the strongest marksman rifles in the game. Aim true, and this weapon will land you easy kills.
Not much needs to be modified on the Essex to make it usable in Multiplayer or Zombies, but if you want to make this weapon a powerhouse for aggressive playstyles, we have a couple of builds that will serve you well. But before we cover the best builds for this gun, let’s first cover how to unlock the Essex Model 07.
How To Unlock The Essex Model 07
The Essex Model 07 can be obtained through theBallerina event during Season 4.This weapon is the final reward from that event, requiring 170 tokens to unlock. Once it’s unlocked, you can use this weapon in Multiplayer, Zombies, or Warzone to level it and unlock its roster of attachments. The Essex has 38 levels.
Once the event ends, you’re able to get the Essex Model 07 fromArmory Unlocks.You can access the Armory from the Barracks tab of any lobby menu. Any XP you earn will then contribute towards unlocking the Essex Model 07.
Pros And Cons
The Essex is a lever-action rifle that’s aone-hit kill to the upper torso and head.It’s a marksman rifle that encourages quickscoping and aggressive gameplay, which means you’ll want to focus onADS Speed and accuracywhile modding this weapon. Before you add anything else, you’ll want to installRapid Fireon the Essex. This greatly improves its rechambering speed with a minimal penalty to your recoil.
Rapid Fire And Magazine Attachments
There is currently a bug that disables Rapid Fire’s RPM bonus if you install any magazine attachments. Until this gets patched, avoid using magazine attachments on the Essex Model 07.
Surprisingly, the best underbarrel attachment we’ve found is theLightweight Handguard.The reduction in idle sway makes this weapon pinpoint accurate at medium range, making it easy to land upper torso shots at a distance. For a snappy feel, you’ll want to pair theQuickdraw LeverandStrelok Laser.
The Quickdraw Lever greatly reduces your ADS speed to 290ms. The Strelok Laser then activates your ADS accuracy about 80 percent of the way into your ADS animation, giving you perfect accuracy about 230ms after you begin to aim down sights. Quickscoping will feelmuchmore consistent. To finish the build, run aLong Barrelto extend the weapon’s effective range to 40 meters.
Loadout Recommendations
Since this build favors a more aggressive playstyle, we suggest running theEnforcer specialty. Kills will give you a massive movement speed bonus and kickstart your HP regeneration. For perks, we useScavengerto restock lost ammo,Hunter’s Instinctsince most column two red perks are fairly weak, andSlipstreamfor a major mobility buff. Your fourth perk via Perk Greed can beFlak Jacketfor explosive damage mitigation orGhostfor safer pathing in large maps.
The Essex Model 07 is a surprisingly powerful weapon in Zombies. It deals immense damage to the upper torso and head andgains near-perfect hipfire accuracy when Pack-A-Punched.This inadvertently gives it fantastic Tactical Stance accuracy since it’s derived from your hipfire stats, making theTactical Lasera no-brainer here. you may pair that with theCut-Off Stockto further improve your Tac Stance accuracy, making it as accurate as aiming.
Lining up Zombies with this weapon is critical, so you’ll want to use FMJ to maximize your damage per shot. While Rapid Fire does result in more paper DPS, FMJ allows you to clear groups in just a few shots if you corral the horde first. Past that, the build mostly remains the same as before.Lightweight Handguardremoves reticle sway; theQuickdraw Levermakes aiming quick, and theStripper Clipsubstantially reduces your reload speed with only a minor penalty to your magazine size.
Your final attachment is mostly down to preference. If you still want to ADS with this gun, feel free to install an optic. We suggest aSuppressorto spawn more Salvage during a match, making it easier to get this weapon to Legendary rarity to maximize its damage. Pair it with damage perks likeDouble Tapand Deadshot Daiquiri to demolish Zombies at the HP cap.
