TheNintendo Switch 2effectively enters the second phase of its launch this week as its second major first-party game,Donkey Kong Bananza, will be released this Thursday. That almost certainly means even more people will be trying to buy one, and Best Buy has already confirmed it’s ready.

Despite Nintendo’s preparations for the Switch 2’s launch, the console has been notoriously hard to find. If you’re still on the hunt for a Switch 2, or you’ve been waiting until Bananza’s arrival to buy one, then Best Buy is where you’ll need to be this Thursday when the new game launches.

I may mean that literally, as even thoughBest Buy has confirmedall of its US locations will have the Switch 2 back in stock for Bananza release day, it hasn’t confirmed whether you will be able to buy them online or if you’ll have to head in-store to grab one. The banner on the Best Buy website notes that all Best Buy locations will have the Switch 2 back in stock in limited quantities, but does not indicate whether you will need to be there or can buy them online and get them delivered or pick them up later.

Best Buy will have the Switch 2 back in stock later this week

Perfect for anyone who’s been waiting until Bananza gets here to buy one

Even though Best Buy has the Switch 2 pictured alongside a copy of Bananza to advertise the restock, it doesn’t appear to be flaunting a new, unannounced bundle. You will, of course, be able to buy a copy of Bananza if you get a Switch 2 from Best Buy this Thursday, and presumably you will want to. I mean, look at it, it looks fantastic.

Switch 2 restocks have been popping up here and there, andeven Amazon had some to sell last weekvia an invitation system. Amazon missed out on the Switch 2’s lucrative launch due to an issue between the site and Nintendo that dates back over a year. That has meant no first-party Nintendo games have been available through the site since April 2024. Whatever problems they were having now appear to have been handled.

It’s difficult to tell just how long Switch 2 shortages will last. The console continues to sell out fast anywhere it pops up, and I assume the arrival of Bananza will only make that worse. Those unimpressed with what was available on the Switch 2 at launch will be more and more tempted to finally buy one with each passing release. First Bananza,Pokemon Legends: Z-Awill almost certainly attract a huge influx of Switch 2 adopters this October, and I’m assuming we’re still gettingMetroid Prime 4 Beyondthis year which a lot of people will want to play on Switch 2 even though it and Pokemon will get cross-gen releases.
