Konosuba is an Isekaianimethat takes every played-out trope from the genre and parodies it to the extreme. Kazuma, the protagonist, dies from embarrassment after thinking he saved a girl from a slow-moving tractor, parodying the rampant trope of an isekai protagonist being hit by a truck trying to do something heroic.

The show is filled with eccentric humor that has Kazuma attempting to live a normal fantasy life while being surrounded by three of the world’s biggest idiots. If you’re a fan of Konosuba, you may be looking for a similar anime to scratch that same itch. If that’s the case, you’ve come to the right place.

8Combatants Will Be Dispatched!

If you’re looking for something as close to Konosuba as possible, what better place to start than an anime originally written by the same author? Combatants Will Be Dispatched is an anime about Combat Agent 6, who works for the evil Kisaragi Corporation to conquer other planets alongside the android Alice.

However, after arriving at the Kingdom of Grace, Agent 6 finds himself employed by their military to aid them in their fight against the Demon Lord’s Army. Now, he has to not only fight alongside the Kingdom of Grace, but also continue to rack up Evil Points to please the Kisaragi Corporation.

Combatants Will Be Dispatched was written before Konosuba, so a lot of similarties between the characters can be seen, almost like prototypes for the latter product.

7Kemono Michi: Rise Up

Kemono Michi is another anime originally written by Natsume Akatsuki, the author of Konosuba. In a similar case to Combatants Will Be Dispatched, some of the character personalities and ideas present in Konosuba can be likened to Kemono Michi.

The anime is about Genzou Shibata, a professional wrestler with a soft spot for animals. During a match one day, Genzou finds himself summoned to another world by its princess, who asks for his help fighting back a monster infestation. Genzou then proceeds to suplex the princess and make his escape, deciding to capture and tame the monsters to fulfill his dream of owning his own pet shop instead.

6The Devil Is A Part-Timer!

The Devil is a Part-Timer is a comedic anime about the Demon Lord Satan, who, just before conquering Enta Isle, is thwarted by the hero Emilia. Forced to retreat, Satan travels through a portal only to end up in the human world with his demonic abilities completely drained.

Vowing to bide his time until he is able to complete his conquering of Enta Isle, Satan takes up the name Sadao Maou and starts working at MgRonalds to blend in and build up his funds. However, Sadao soon finds himself enthralled with the fast food business, and his dreams of domination slowly give way to his desire to climb the corporate ladder.

5Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered But Overly Cautious

Cautious Hero follows Seiya Ryuuguuin, a hero summoned to another world by the goddess Ristarte, on his quest to save the land of Gaeabrande from demons. Despite his exceedingly high stats, Seiya is almost too careful, taking extreme precautions in every situation, including using the entirety of his special attack repertoire against the first slime he encounters.

Despite Seiya’s somewhat annoying habit, his overly cautious nature proves to be the right move against the monsters infesting the land, especially since they won’t be pulling any punches. Fans of Konosuba are sure to enjoy Seiya and Ristarte’s antics.

4Princess Connect! Re:Dive

Based on the now-shut-down mobile game of the same name, Princess Connect follows the adventures of a protagonist who has lost his memory. He joins up with Kokkoro, a timid but caring guide, Pecorine, a gluttonous swordswoman, and Karyl, an aloof cat-eared magical girl.

The gang forms their own guild, then sets off across the land of Astoria in search of delicious food. Both Princess Connect and Konosuba are directed by Takaomi Kanasaki, so many similarities can be drawn between these two anime, from their hilarious characters to their slightly episodic format.

3The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K

While we’ve primarily discussed fantasy or Isekai anime up to this point, Saiki K is something a little different. Born with almost every psychological power imaginable, Saiki Kusuo wants nothing more than to live a normal life free of his powers.

However, the eccentric cast of students at Saiki’s school always seems to get in the way of his normal life, forcing him to use his powers to avoid sticky situations. If you love Konosuba’s characters and their interactions, you’re sure to enjoy the Disastrous Life of Saiki K.

2The Slayers

If you’re tired of the current trend of Isekai anime but still love Konosuba’s humor and parodies, you may be interested in The Slayers. This Western Fantasy-inspired anime series follows Lina Inverse, a powerful but greedy mage, who spends her time stealing treasure from bandits.

A chance encounter leads Lina to meet Gourry Gabriev, a gallant but slow-witted swordsman who decides to accompany her as she evades men who begin following her after she obtains a magic relic. The Slayers is straight fantasy; no leveling mechanics or character stats here. That said, fans of Konosuba’s characters and world will have a lot to love here, too.

1The Eminence In Shadow

The Eminence in Shadow operates on a similar level as Konosuba, but with an entirely different premise. The series follows Minoru Kagenou, who spends his nights after school fighting biker gangs with a crowbar. However, after a quintessential encounter with a truck, he finds himself reborn in a fantasy world, donning the moniker Shadow.

He quickly establishes Shadow Garden, an organization dedicated to fighting the Cult of Diablos, a group that Shadow makes up on the spot. However, as Shadow Garden grows in influence, it seems that the Cult of Diablos is a bit more than a figment of Shadow’s imagination. The Eminence in Shadow takes every Isekai trope and turns them upside down, leading to a hysterical time rivaling Konosuba’s antics.
