Spy X Family combines the supernatural with espionage and assassinations in a way that no otheranimecan. Loid, Yor, and Anya make for an entertaining main cast, and thankfully, there is a lot of Spy X Family for you to watch. What happens when you’ve caught up though?
Here, we are going to take a look at some of the best anime to watch if you like Spy X Family. Though there may be some similarities, each of these shows holds up as a great watch. Additionally, we’ve included a wide range of shows that can appeal to everyone.
This list is presented in no particular order.
9Kaguya-sama: Love Is War
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a fast-paced and witty comedy about the members of the student council. While being on the student council at a school for the elite may seem simple, it’s more cutthroat than you can imagine, especially when it comes to love.
This anime follows Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane, who both like each other, but refuse to confess first. This makes for some comically outrageous situations that are narrated in quite an intense manner.
8Yakuza’s Guide To Babysitting
We’ve all thought to ourselves, “What if the Yakuza babysat?”. While espionage and assassins are the main focus in Yakuza’s Guide To Babysitting, it still involves a unique individual who has a dangerous job doing something pretty mudane in comparison.
Yakuza’s Guide To Babysitting is heartfelt and wholesome, and each character that appears is great. Overall, this is a great show if you are looking to watch a show with the familial bond that Spy X Family has.
7Hinamatsuri
Hinamatsuri is pretty similar to Yakuza’s Guide To Babysitting. This showfocuses on a Yakuza memberwho takes in a girl with telekinetic powers. Rather than the girl hiding her powers (like Anya does), Nitta (the Yakuza member) knows about Hina’s powers.
If Yakuza’s Guide To Babysitting leans into the familial bonds, then Hinamatsuri really leans into the humor. Hinamatsuri is absolutely hilarious, but knows when to get serious at times. Overall, this is a well-rounded anime worth watching.
6Sakamoto Days
What if a professional hitman became an old man and worked at a convenience store? Sakatmoto Days answers this question for us.This anime follows Taro Sakamoto, who used to be a hitman, but now lives a simple life with a family and a convenience store.
The life of crime isn’t just shed forever though, and Sakamoto has to deal with this. Sakamoto Days is a great anime that many describe as feeling quite nostalgic, though it first aired in 2025. This is also a great show if you want to see a middle-aged protagonist who is a bit chubby.
5The Way Of The Househusband
The Way Of The Househusband is another ‘Yakuza meets family life’ situation. This time, we follow alongside Tatsu, who has the nickname “The Immortal Dragon”. This fearful Yakuza member eventually disappeared, though he has recently made his return as a househusband.
This is one of my favorite anime on the list! Each episode brings a smile to my face; immediately after watching, I read the manga too.
This anime is quite episodic, with each episode bringing a new and hilarious situation. While there are no kids involved, Tatsu is adorably dedicated to his wife and would do anything to support her career.
4Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is a bit different from Spy X Family, but it has the same vibe of office-life meeting the supernatural. In this case, it’s office-life meeting with a group of dragons that look cute. The tititular Miss Kobayashi is an average office worker who lived a simple (and lonely) life, but after meeting Tohru one day, her life has been anything but.
As the show continues, you’ll meet more dragons, including Fafnir. This is a male dragon who eventually resides with Kobayashi’s coworker. Together, the two live a sweet otaku life. The animations for dragons and their battles are honestly quite breathtaking as well.
3Assassination Classroom
Assassination Classroom has quite a unique premise. The students of 3-E are looked down upon by other students; they even have their own rundown classroom separated from the main building. The assassination comes in when Koro-sensei becomes their teacher; in addition to learning, they will need to kill him.
We suggest watching the English dub of this anime. Some of the dialogue and line delivery is hilarious in English.
This show starts off silly and a bit outrageous, but it eventually morphs into something quite heartwarming. At first, it may seem like there are a lot of characters, but as time goes by, you’ll get to know all of them.
2Buddy Daddies
Okay, we know that the name of this show is a bit weird, but hear us out. Buddy Daddies is about a pair of assassins who form a makeshift family with a little girl. While they have a good grasp on assassin life, raising a girl proves to be more difficult than they thought.
Buddy Daddies aired about a year after Spy X Family first came out, and while there are many similarities between the two, Buddy Daddies is still a great watch filled with fun characters that can reign it in and get quite serious at times.
1The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K.
Last but not least, we have The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K. This isn’t just on the list because it features apink-haired characterwith little ears on the top of their head. This anime follows Saiki, who has a slew of psychic abilities.
Like Miss Kobayashi (mentioned earlier), Saiki wants to be normal and not draw too much attention to himself. Of course, this is a comedy, so it makes sense that he seems to attract some strange people at school.
