That said, there can be something of a steep learning curve when you first dive into the world of Magical Girls and begin playing Madoka Magica Magia Exedra. As professionals at the game by now, we’re here with a few tips to help you get started by putting your best foot forward.
Collect All Free Gems For The Most Pulls
Every single day when you play Madoka Magica Magia Exedra, you’ll have a litany ofchallenges and collectionsto work on in the name of earningfree gems, which allow you to pull on most of the character banners in the game and complete your Chamber of Light collections.
Given that a ten-pull requires 4,100 free gems, and each chapter you finish of the main story only awarding 300 gems each, you’ll want to make sure you gather all the free perks you’re able to! These include:
Each of these offertonsof free gems, as doesevery character you loginto the Chamber of Light. Be sure to manually collect your rewards from each place to get the most out of your ability to pull in the gacha.
Don’t Be Afraid To Reroll
When you start playing the game, you’ll go through a tutorial section where A-Q teaches you to play Madoka Magica Magia Exedra before being allowed topull for Magical Girls and Kiokuto unlock new combatants to add to your story mission teams. These characters have star rankings that reflect their rarity and stats.
The game makes sure you begin with afive-star character and two four-star characters, but they can come from a pretty big list. Some players feel it best toreroll an account if these characters aren’t to your liking.
If there’s a certain girl you’re hoping for, or you feel you’ve wasted your free gems and Magica Keys, you can always restart the game and try again.
As you go through the game’s tutorial learning how to fight via A-Q’s tips and tricks, you’ll be introduced to thesix main combat rolesyour characters can take on. These are:
The tutorial encourages you to use a slew of abilities, but if you’re confident in your most powerful characters and know they can press on, you’re able to alwaysrearrange your party and use your best charactersregardless of role.
But Keep An Attacker And Breaker
While you can rearrange a good chunk of your supporting roles with Buffers, Debuffers, Defenders, and Healers, you’llalways need a Breaker and an Attackerto effectively deal damage in any battle you attempt in Madoka Magica Magia Exedra.
Enemies will need to have their seals broken before you can reliably lay the hurt on them and deal the most damage, sobegin with a Breakfrom your Breaker’s Special Attack, thenfollow up with your Attackerto compound the damage being dealt to each enemy on the field.
Use Special Attacks As Much As Possible
Madoka Magica Magia Exedra has plenty to teach you about its combat mechanics, which you’ll do most of with A-Q when you first begin playing. But there’s a lot to do in battle, with plenty to learn off the top, but one of the key takeaways of the tutorial is thatSpecial Attacks are the key to winning battles.
The damage done by every character’s Special Attacks isdecided by her combat role, with Breakers doing more Break damage, Attackers doing additional outright damage, and more. Be sure to check your party member’s Special Attacks when choosing them for the battle!
Your party shares the SP necessary for these moves, though, which means you’ll need toreplenish your abilities by performing standard attacksbetween Special Attacks. If you don’t have the upper hand with a character who’s next in the attack formation, or you’re low on points, simply do a regular attack to recharge.
We found it best to save these points for Breakers and Attackers whenever possible, especially early on in the game.
Make Time To Train Characters
Early on inMadoka Magica Magia Exedra, you’ll find yourself with tons of main story missions to complete. These offer the most free gems and other rewards, and they’re how you’ll progress with the main section of the game. However, for an easier time here, you cantrain Kioku between main missions.
These quests for your Kioku can be pretty essential before you’ve got a whole repertoire of S+-tier characters to call on during your battles, but training allows you toupgrade the statson all your girls between battles. You’ll need to complete some additional fights to farm the materials to upgrade your characters, but it’ll be worth it when you’re packing stronger Special Attack punches!
Additionally, you’re able to manuallylevel your characters upto continue making the Magical Girls and Kioku you’ve got in your party even stronger. Your girls gain EXP for each fight they’re in outside the tutorial ones with A-Q, but you can alsospend A-Q Points to level the teamwhen you’ve got some on hand.
By upgrading theirlevel, magic level, stats, and ascensionmilestones, your girls will pack even more powerful punches. Swing in often to see that everyone is as strong as can be. If you find yourself using the same characters, you may want toprioritize leveling your main party firstbefore building up characters you’re not actively using.
Plan Which Portraits You Have Equipped
As you work through the main quest lines inMadoka Magica Magia Exedra, you’ll find that you’ll continue to earn what are referred to as Portraits. These arestill from the show/mangaof pivotal moments of Madoka and friends, and not only are they adorable to reflect on, they also offer alitany of stat buffswhen equipped.
Portraits can boost things like HP, attack, and defense stats for all five characters on your team. Each girl can bring one portrait into the battle, and the auto-party mechanic will assign them if you’re using it, but we’d suggestmanually assigning portraitsto ensure each girl is getting the best, most useful buff for her damage type and combat role.
Whale On Free Banners, Decide On Paid Banners
Though they’re both identified by pink gemstones, you’ll find that there are two types of gems in Madoka Magica Magia Exedra. TheFree Gemsare those earned as you play the game and come from doing things like hitting story milestones in main quests and logging new girls into your Chamber of Light collection.
There are alsoPaid Gems, which can only be obtained by parting with actual real-world cash in the in-game store. There are a few banners restricted only to Paid Gems, though, so you’ll need to weigh up how much you really want these characters if you’re trying to stay F2P.
That said, you’ll still get excellent characters from the Free Gem banners, so it’s always worth pulling for a good spread. See which characters you really want to bring along and whale on their banners when they’re active.
