Earlier this week, rumours spread thatBattlefield 6was going to beyet another new release that embraced the $80 price tag. This stemmed from a report from reputable leakerbillbil-kun, who claimed that Battlefield 6 would be priced at €80 in Europe. Traditionally, this would have meant that the game would then be $80 in Europe, and £70 in the UK.
Now, the prices have been revealed, and while the speculation about the US price tag didn’t amount to anything, gamers in Europe are still feeling the sting. As reported byRewinder, this fact is being ignored, and suggests thatEAis in fact rolling out higher prices for its games, just not in the US as of yet.
EA Did Increase The Price Of Battlefield 6 In Europe, But The US Is Safe For Now
These prices were revealed when thepre-orders went live, and you can see them on storefronts now. For the standard game, this is how much we’re paying by region.
As highlighted in the Rewinder report, this kind of pricing can be seen with other titles, whereas a few others stick to the old days of price matching. However, one of the titles that costs even more in Europe is another EA game, Madden NFL 26, suggesting that this will be the company’s strategy going forward.
Battlefield 2042 is listed on Steam for £49.99 in the UK, €59.99 in the EU, and $59.99 in the US.
So far, EA has said that its US pricing will remain in place for its “frontline games”, so we may see the company experiment with pricier titles elsewhere. Other companies have already gone all in, withNintendo charging $80 for Mario Kart World, on top of thecostly Nintendo Switch 2 console.
All in all, Battlefield 6 doesn’t completely buck the trend of price increases across the industry. Instead, it’s just a case of the US being spared the hit right now, with Europe being the first to feel the sting. With that in mind, it will be interesting to see how EA prices the rest of the titles put out by the various studios under its wing, especially after reportingdisappointing sales in the latter part of 2024.
Battlefield 6 will launch on June 05, 2025. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. There will be an Open Beta sessions thoughout the month, with the first one kicking off on August 9.
