With all eyes onBattlefield 6, a new interview has revealed that the game will run at a crisp 60fps onPlayStation 5andXboxSeries S/X. You read that right, even the Series S.
As Battlefield 6 continues to get the spotlight treatment just a week removed from its official reveal, fans are speculating on how well the title will run and whether it will launch as anotherBattlefield 2042or not. After all, Battlefield 6 looks just as good as you’d expect from DICE, which is setting off some worries that framerates might be a little iffy.
As good as Battlefield 6 looks, however, reports continue to surface praising the title’s performance thanks to some early previews.According to a new developer interview from Tech & Co, the game is guaranteed to feature 60fps across ALL consoles (including the Series S) and can even exceed 60fps in performance mode. The YouTube interview can be seen below (and reported byTech4Gamers).
Previous Battlefield 6 reports have given the title’s performance a gold star, suggesting that on a PlayStation 5 Pro with Variable Refresh Rate enabled, the title supposedly hits a maximum of 120fps. This goes against EA’s previous launches, with other titles in the series (especially Battlefield 2042) being negatively received due to steep unoptimized gameplay.
Battlefield 6 Breaks The Mold, Will Reportedly Run At Optimized 60fps
The biggest surprise with Battlefield 6 is its optimization on all consoles upon release. Battlefield 6 Studio’s principal game designer, Florian Le Bihan, says in the interview that optimization has been their biggest priority leading up to release, placing heavy emphasis on smooth gameplay as any FPS should have.
Although it appears Battlefield 6 is laser-focused on optimizing gameplay for all fans globally, the team at EA is also committed to bringing returning fans back, showing goodwill by launching nine multiplayer maps on release, including fan-favorites likeBattlefield 3’s Operation Firestorm. Battlefield 6 is also committed to providingsmooth gameplay over including zany character skinslike other FPS titles in the wild.
All in all, while fans remain cautiously optimistic regarding the next Battlefield, early impressions continue to sing the title’s praises.
