“Remember to Pre-order” versus “Remember to not pre-order” has become a common battle in the live chats of trailers, as fans and scorned fans express their opinion on a game series or a publisher’s decisions regarding that series.

Explosions, Choppers and Carnage

The cinematic trailer was flashy, featuring dramatic shots of helicopter crashes and highly destructible environments. The setting of Battlefield 6 involves a protracted war against Pax Armata, a paramilitary company funded by disgruntled former NATO states.

The trailer featured no gameplay, with the multiplayer reveal set to air on July 31. We’ve seen a lot of leaked footage from the Battlefield Labs play test over the last few months, andveterans of the series are cautiously optimistic.

However, not everyone is convinced. A Reddit thread fromRickRatedeclared the trailer “cinema,” but the thread’s comments contain plenty of Battlefield players who are still cautious of the upcoming game.

“Sorry, I’m not falling for a cinematic trailer with no gameplay again,” writesBigBob145. Another user points out that Battlefield 2045’s cinematic trailer also had a lot of flashy explosions, but the end product did not live up to the game’s marketing.

“These comments are too much,” concursOdd_Spring_9345. It’s an understandable point of view, given the industry’s propensity for releasing misleading trailers. The trailer for The Initiative’s cancelled Perfect Dark reboot was reportedly almost all ‘faked’, for example.

Still, despite some understandably cautious fans, the sentiment surrounding Battlefield 6 is reasonably positive. The single-player trailer has drawn comparisons toAlex Garland’s Civil War, and the play-test footage has some testers calling Battlefield 6 a ‘return to form’ for the series.
