EAhas finally given us a date for when the nextBattlefieldgame will be revealed, and has confirmed the game’s title. As everyone expected, the next entry in the series will simply be titled Battlefield 6, and the game will be formally unveiled later this week.
The first trailer for Battlefield 6 is scheduled for July 24, so this Thursday. While we’ve already seen bits of what the devs have been working on, this will be the first time that it’s been shown off as Battlefield 6, and we might even get an idea of when it will be with us.
Battlefield 6 Will Be Revealed On July 24 With Its First Trailer
There had been plenty of leaks and rumours saying the reveal would be happening soon, and it looks like they were mostly on the money, even if some of them got the date wrong. Still, it’s no secret that a new Battlefield game has been in the works, as the devs have been sharing bits and pieces throughout development. We just didn’t have the confirmation that it would be Battlefield 6 until now.
The last Battlefield game wasBattlefield 2042, which has been supported continuously since it launched in 2021. It was met with mixed reviews, with fans of the series being especially critical. Many have been hoping that Battlefield 6 is a return to form and not just more of the same.
Many of the complaints were about in-game features (or lack thereof)and performance issues, but there were plenty of fans who took issue with the tone, too. For this reason, fans will behoping that there’s nothing like the Santa Claus skin in Battlefield 6, letting the game be grittier than what came before.
Despite the disappointment from the previous release, fans are optimistic, or at least willing to give Battlefield another chance. Only time will tell if this really is a return to form, but this is a new console generation and another chance to win back players, and the initial Battlefield 2042 backlash is now years behind us.
Also,Call of Duty’sincreasingly wild crossoversmean there’s a gap in the market for a gritty FPS. At a time when every game wants to follow the Fortnite formula, Battlefield 6 could fill a gap in the market by keeping its microtransactions simple and not doing any crossovers that are too jarring.
In any case, we’ll find out more about Battlefield 6 this Thursday.
