The Adamantine Golem, a.k.a. Grym, is one of the toughest early bosses you’ll face in Baldur’s Gate 3. Found in theGrymforge, this metallic mechanism barely takes any damage from melee attacks, and is only susceptible to them once covered in magma. If you don’tdrop the hammer on him, ordrop an Owlbear from up top, you’re probably going to struggle with the fight.

However, one player wasn’t having any of it and decided that they’ll take every NPC from act one into the fight. This resulted in an all-out 70-character raid boss fight in the Grymforge. This massive team-up consisted of NPCs from the Emerald Grove, Goblin camp, Myconid Colony, Arcane Tower, and the Grymforge itself.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Brings Most Of Act 1’s NPCs For The Grymforge Battle

It goes without saying that the game doesn’t really allow you to just take the entire population of act one for a stroll into the Grymforge. For this to be possible, Redditorxehparrsaid that they had to kidnap each of them individually over six hours. Kidnapping in Baldur’s Gate 3 is basicallya glitch that allows you to carry NPCs. It also allows you tomake sure Dammon survives act two.

Over those six hours, xehparr brought NPC’s from all over the first act and managed to get them all to aggro towards Grym. After that, it was simply a matter of letting the massive turn order unfold. “Some say they’re still waiting for their second turn to this day,” joked one comment. Another suggested “you can make yourself a full 3 course meal in between your characters turns.”

There were, unsurprisingly, a few hitches along the road. Halsin’s AI completely broke midway through everything, but a quick reboot helped with that. After over 90 minutes, the encounter finally ended, with the army defeating Grym.

xehparr decided to lay the finishing move on all his kidnapped victims by releasing the magma. Unfortunately, you don’t get any exp for defeating them like that. “What was once a forge for metals is now a forge for necromancy,” pointed out another comment.
