Summary

Secret characters were a delightful little prize back when video games had some mystery around them. Who can forget spending hours trying to unlock Reptile in Mortal Kombat, or playing as Isildur in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King on PS2? While it isn’t exactly the same thing,Baldur’s Gate 3has a secret character as well.

If you’re a big fan of the game, you must have heard of Harvard Willoughby by now. Not to be confused with the comedian in the Elfsong Tavern, this Harvard isa magic-wielding sheep that you can hatch out of a mysterious eggafter fulfilling certain conditions in Baldur’s Gate 3. He can be summoned as a pet after this, and it seems one player took the effort to make him land the killing blow on The Netherbrain.

Harvard The Hero Of Baldur’s Gate

My friends and I decided to let Harvard have the glory of landing the final hit on the Netherbrain," said a post byCalders2305on Reddit. “So, through much pain and effort managed to position a hastened Harvard to cast call lightning on a wet 4 health brain to end the game. The cheer as he came through the portal to the high hall despite summons typically not being able to was incredible.

“Sadly, I’m assuming that our faithful wooly friend died in the aftermath as he was not present at our camp reunion, despite being such an essential part of our act 3 journey.”

Either Harvard canonically didn’t make it out of the ensuing crash, or his program didn’t allow him to enter the epilogue, but the magical sheep died a hero, and will be remembered as the saviour of the city.

This prompted other players to share some ridiculous kills in the comments. One player kept turning Cazador into a sheep while Astarion whittled his health down with dead rats. Another party defeated him simply by chucking food items at him. One comment even mentioned throwing corpses at enemies and then exploding them. Technically all of these are canon.
