InBack To The Dawn, whether you decide to play as Thomas the Fox or Bob the Black Panther, you will suddenly find yourself behind bars, either because you were framed or because you’re undercover. But what do you do now?

But how do you survive in this hostile environment away from loved ones? Here are some tips and tricks to help you make the most out of your time in the slammer until you can escape and move on with your life.

The Tutorial Tip In Back To The Dawn About Survival.

Take Care Of Both Your Physical And Mental Health

Prison life can be grueling on both the mind and the body, so it’s important to verify you’retaking care of your overall health. If your Body or Mind points drop below 30, it can be extremely difficult to bring them back up and you risk losing the game.

Thebiggest culprit is hunger. If you have the Hunger status, you will losefive points of Body and two points of Mind every hour. The two meals you get each day aren’t enough to keep your Satiety levels up.

You can buy cookies from Billy, the Deputy Captain. They can be a little pricey, butwill keep you from starving. Other ways to find snacks or extra food include:

Your bed will only come with a sheet but no pillow or blanket. If you spend too many nights without those items, it cansignificantly affect your health, so purchase those from Billy as soon as you can.

Befriending An Inmate In Back To The Dawn.

Befriend As Many Inmates As You Can

It may seem a little tedious, but we highly recommend that youspend as much time in the beginningbefriending the other teammates. Once you’ve befriended someone, you not only learn about their story, but you have the chance totrade with them and build rapport.

There are quests that require you to get specific items, and sometimes theonly way to get these items is to trade with inmates. The item you need might even require you to have a certain level of rapport with the individual.

If you activate theCharisma specialty called Affinity, you will only spend one focus point befriending inmates instead of two, which will allow you to make more friends.

Rewind Time With Memory Recall

Memory Recall is like a time machine thatlets you go back to fix a mistake, but it only holds the last six auto save points. To use it, open your pause menu and select Memory Recall. Then, choose which save you want to go back to.

Stay Out Of Fights Early On

From day one, you’ll have theoption to engage other inmates in fights. Either through a quest, an interaction in the yard during recreation, or by signing up for a prison boxing match.

However, in the beginning, youhaven’t yet upgraded your attributes, specialties, or activated any skills. The other inmates are much stronger than you, and if you fight with any of them too early, not only can you ruin possible relationships, but you could damage your health not have a way to come back.

However, once you have a better handle on managing your health, losing a fight is a great way to get sent to the infirmary. There you have access to the pharmacy, and if it’s during the day, you’ll get to speak with Beth, the prison doctor.

Search Everything

No matter where you go,there are places you may search to scrounge for items. You can search trash cans, shelves, boxes, and more. In these places you can sometimes find food, weapons, tools, or resources that you can use to craft other items.

Sometimes you’ll be in an area that gives you acertain amount of freetime. Use that time to search every shelf or box you can see. You might find something useful that you can use for an escape.

Keep in mind that searchingdoes require stamina, and will causetime to move forwarda few minutes each time.

Level Up Your Attributes And Skills

Everything you do in the prisoncontributes experience to your four attributes: Strength, Agility, Intelligence, and Charisma. From picking weeds and working out to eavesdropping or painting, there are several ways to gain experience.

As your experience points fill up, you can either use them toactivate specialties within each attribute, or you can use them tofill up skill pointsthat can then be spent on skills that you may have unlocked. Beefing up your attributes and skills is a great way toensure long-term survivaluntil you can finally get out of the slammer.

The first couple of job openings you get here arerequired for the main story quests, but after that most of them are optional. However, different jobs not only offer more ways to make money and earn Good Conduct Credits, but they alsogive you access to more areas of the prison.

More access meansmore escape routes to potentially find. If you keep doing your job well, you’ll soon have a variety of escape routes to choose from. Additionally, performing the various job tasks will give you experience in at least one of your attributes, depending on the task, which cango towards activating specialties and assigning skills.

Manage Your Stamina And Focus Points Wisely

Many activities and tasks willrequire either stamina, focus points, or both. Stamina lets you do things like work out, paint, perform your jobs, craft items, write letters, and more.

Focus points aremainly used to befriend inmates and in fights, but you can also use focus points to re-roll when you fail an attribute roll. And if you’re on New Eden Mode, you can also use focus points to change your fate and force a successful roll.

You willstart each day with 120 stamina and five focus points. Focus points refill over time, but stamina does not. There are, however, a variety of ways to get some stamina back. Those include:

There are also afew specialties and skills that can give you a boost to your stamina and focus, such as Iron Throne, Reflex, Focus Up, and Affinity.
