By this point, it’s no secret that more and moreXbox"exclusives" are making their way toPlayStation 5, either on day-and-date likeDoom: The Dark Ages, ora few months after release, like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It’s all part ofMicrosoft’s larger strategy as the company shifts to a more third-party approach.
Now, gamers can potentially add two more titles to that list of futurePlayStationreleases, as it is being reported that bothGears of War: E-DayandState of Decay 3could launch onSony’s flagship console.
When In Doubt, Be Sure To Check Developers' Resumes Out
As first reported by MP1st, resumes of active game developers hint at the potential for E-Day and State of Decay 3 to launch on the PS5. When it comes to E-Day, a resume lists PS5 as a platform, alongside Xbox and PC. Unfortunately, it doesn’t specify whether it’ll launch on the PS5, or join the console down the line.
Meanwhile, for State of Decay 3, a separate resume similarly lists the PS5 as a platform for the third game. As it stands, neither of the first two games have been released on PlayStation.
Already, PS players will get to experience Gears next month, when a remaster of the first game launches on the console, complete with multiplayer functionality. It is still unclear if other games in the core trilogy will also be released, but given that E-Day is being pegged as a prequel, perhaps those will come down the line. During the Xbox Games Showcase,Phil Spencer affirmed that E-Day will release next year.
Either way, the news should have PlayStation games rather excited, though given recent news surrounding the potential for more exclusives to come to Xbox, perhaps they’re less excited.
