As thebattle between payment processors, storefronts likeSteamand Itch.io and the gamers caught in the middle continues on, GOG, alongside several game publishers, is taking a stand in the name of game preservation and the ability to play whatever you want whenever you want.

The campaign, aptly titled “FreedomToBuy,“is making multiple adult or NSFW games, the kind that have since been either delisted or de-indexed from servers, completely free to own for the next 48 hours.

In a statement released online, GOG stated the following:

“As an archival platform dedicated to protecting gaming history, we believe that if a game is legal and responsibly made, players should be able to enjoy it today – and decades from now.”

That is why the company, along with multiple publishers, are banding together to take a “stand against the quiet erasure of creative works from digital shelves.” Specifically, it notes, “When games are delisted today because of discomfort, reviving them tomorrow becomes exponentially harder.”

Over the next 48 hours, the following 13 games will be completely free to own, play and keep forever:

The titles all range from something extremely violent like Postal to the kind of NSFW games that aren’t illegal but should be in the hands of adults only due to their strong sexual themes.

Those who are interested in claiming the games can do sohere, and there is also the ability to make a statement via a pre-written social media post. Previously, gamers banded together to contact VISA, all in hopes of changing things.
