Xboxis in a tough spot now, both in terms of its business dealings and public perception. What it needs is a win, anddipping its toes into the handheld console marketdoes, on paper, sound like it could be that.

However, there might be a slight issue with this: many Xbox fans could struggle to afford it. That’s because yet another source has confirmed the leaks that the cheapestROG Xbox Allymodel will cost €599, with theROG Xbox Ally Xcosting a further €899. This makes it much pricier than both theNintendo Switch 2and theSteam Deck, with the latter being a close competitor to the ROG Xbox Ally.

Want An ROG Xbox Ally X? It Could Set You Back €899

Billbil-kun ofDeal Labsis the latest to back up these leaked prices, which is disappointing news for anyone who was on the fence about checking out Xbox’s handheld collaboration.

“Following our recent investigations, we were able to confirm the pricing of Xbox’s upcoming portable consoles,” the report reads. “Unsurprisingly, they match the previous leaks: €599 for the Xbox Ally and €899 for the Xbox Ally X.”

They also claim that pre-orders will go live on August 20, which lines up with when the console will be playable to the public at Gamescom.

These alleged prices for the ROG Xbox Ally convert to around $690 and $1,000, respectively, but this is not necessarily what they will be priced at. There is no indication of how much the console will cost in the US right now.

For reference, the Steam Deck is priced between €419–679, and the Nintendo Switch 2 will set you back €469.99, or €509.99 if you throw inMario Kart World.

Leaker eXtas1s shared the ROG Xbox Ally prices last month, which was thenbacked up by another source. So, with multiple sources saying the same thing, it’s looking increasingly likely that this is indeed how much the console will be priced in Europe. We will have to wait and see if this is confirmed, and how much it will cost in other regions.

As for when the price will be revealed, it’s possible that Xbox will hold off until pre-orders open, which is apparently just under a month away. Waiting until Gamescom makes sense, since there could be a big showing from Xbox at Opening Night Live to ease the sting of the big price tag.
