Prime Day, Amazon’s biggest sale event of the year, is back, and even though it lasts longer than a day, despite the name, you’ll want to act now if you want to take advantage of what will almost certainly be this year’s biggest and best deal -aPlayStation Portalfor less than $125.

The very popularPlayStationaccessory, which lets you playPS5games on a handheld device under the right circumstances, has an MSRP of $200, and even at that price, it tends to sell out pretty quickly. If you’re seeing this in time and head tothe Portal’s store page on Amazon, you’ll find the accessory has had its price cut by 11 percent, dropping the cost to $177.32.

Pick up a heavily discounted PlayStation Portal for Prime Day

It’s going to be a while before you see one for this little again

A discount of any description on the Portal is one worth taking advantage of, but I promised a much deeper one than 11 percent. Provided you’re reading this before the Portal has sold out, or before Amazon decides to remove the deal - there’s no warning of when that might happen - you should see a little green banner that reads “Prime Day deal Save 30 percent” under the discounted price.

If that banner is still there, that means once you have added the Portal to your cart and you proceed to the virtual checkout, an additional 30 percent will be knocked off the price of the Portal, bringing the cost down to $124.13. The only caveat is that you need to have an active Prime subscription to get the additional 30 percent off. Even if you don’t, I’d say it’s worth signing up for a month to benefit from the deep discount.

PlayStation Portal-1

The only other caveat is that the Portal you get is a used one, but don’t panic, this isn’t some third-party scam where people are trying to get rid of busted accessories for less. The accessories are being sold through Amazon Resale. Amazon Resale products are tested, and the Portal has been labeled “used - like new” which is the highest label an item sold via Amazon Resale can be awarded.

If you do find a problem with your Portal, it still falls under the standardAmazon return policy.

The Portal was criticized when first revealed by PlayStation, but widespread sellouts as soon as they went up for pre-order proved that there were a lot more people quietly excited about the prospect of handheld PS5 games than vocal detractors. Since that initial launch,PlayStation has added a black Portalalong with a grey 30th anniversary edition, but good luck finding that one in stock.
